meteorologist tom curran joins us with the forecast. good morning, tom. >> good morning. we're finally getting above freezing after a night of freezing. 34 at reagan national, and it's into the 30s in most of the region. still in the 20s out of the mountains. it's in the mid-30s in the bay, and it should climb to near 40 by later this afternoon. over the past 12 hours, we've had high clouds drifting in from the south and the west. those will be here as we get into the afternoon hours and we'll have temperatures climbing up to about 40 or so and we'll hold steady until about 5:00 or so. we'll have some light breezes out of the south as well. then this evening will be cloudy, and out in the shenandoah valley, there will be some sleet perhaps. elsewhere, though, east of there just a cloudy sky and we'll have some of those breezes shifting to the south-southwest. temperatures earlow 30s early evening, dropping back to the mid-30s overnight. maybe some rain tomorrow, too, and up and down we go as we get toward the weekend. all the details coming up, angie. >> looking forward t
