. >> let's check in with meteorologist tom kierein to get a look at the forecast. nice day yesterday. >> it sure was. got around 50 degrees. clouded up overnight an now this morning starting off with temperatures above freezing. out in the mountains now in the mid-20s. 38 in washington, nearby suburbs now in the mid-30s. view from space showing quite a bit of cloudiness. we may have a few breaks in the clouds. by sunset we might have a little light rain temperatures near 40. sunrise this morning at 6:39. little light rain in the evening hours and further west and north light snow. but then even around the metro area light snow by midnight and off and on until dawn tomorrow. we might have a slushy wet one inch on just mainly nonroad areas. looks like the roads will be wet. during the day on wednesday more rain and light snow but very little or no accumulation as we get into wednesday evening. ending after that and sun back thursday and friday. how is this traffic, jerry? >> doing pretty well. take a live look along south capitol street up towards the douglas bridge.

let's check in with tom kierein. >> we are getting a few sprinkles right here in wraesh you s -- washington where you blochs of blue that rain. getting a few sprinkles in northern prince george's, montgomery, as well as parts of fairfax, loudoun and prince william counties. scattered showers around the region. temperatures are on the mild side we're in the upper 50s to near 60. now 60 in washington. eastern shore in the mid-50s as well as the mountains now in the mid-50s and getting moderate rain in southern west virginia even pockets of heavy downpours there. that's going to be passing west of washington this morning but later on this afternoon other passing showers and maybe even thunder and that may continue into tonight. then some drizzle perhaps tomorrow morning into midday and sun back tomorrow afternoon upper 50s and mostly sunny wednesday, mid-60s. now, jerry, how is it looking this morning? >> light sprinkles could cause some problems. be careful. they are out there. let's start with northern virginia i-95 northbound. as you make the trip south to the approach of the wilson bridge.

let's talk to tom kierein about how soon the clouds will roll in. tom? >>> mild temperatures, too, this afternoon, but that will be the end of it for a number of days. it will be turning much cooler beginning tomorrow. here's our sunrise look this morning going back in time to just past dawn. our sunrise this morning was at 7:04 as the sun was up just enough to see it there at the beginning of the day. the following two hours, we had quite a bit of cloudiness coming through, and the sun was blocked by some clouds from time to time. we had some high clouds, as well. the sun came out by about 8:00 and by 9:00 it had gone pretty much completely overcast around the region. as we take a live look at our city camera, you can see the overcast sky over the potomac river, the great waters there reflecting that sky. temperatures right now are rebounding from that morning low. it's 58 at reagan national. sunrise, sunset times today, 7:04, sunset 7:25, but we add about an hour and a half of daylight. by the end of april, sunrises around 6:15, sunsets around 8:00, so
