tom mcguire, sustainable foods director. i'm here today to ask you to help me recognize alex velez rering from sfmta after 11 years of service as a transit fare inspector. during this time, along with many other distinctions, inspector valdez is one of our most reliable inspectors. he once went five years without calling in sick. he is also almost certainly the most productive transit fare inspector in the history of the m.t.a. in terms of the number of customers he interacts with every day and the number of citations he issued. his partners in squad have given him the nickname bossing. he's had that nickname apparently since he started because they knew from day one he was a person to hold in high esteem and special regard. you may recognize his face because a few years ago he was here with some of his colleagues, several times over the course of his time with the m.t.a. he has saved the lives of patrons or rendered aid to people seriously injured on the system. you may remember that he was previously recognized for this bo
