nationalized race, lots of spending every single ad that maasie polyps campaign has run has been attacking tom suozzi on immigration, on this idea that he's for open borders. suozzi for his part, has tried to attack felkel for her stance on abortion or saying that her stance on these issues aren't very isn't very clear and that if you vote for a pilip, you may get another george santos, which is the ousted congressman. they're trying to replace. but the important thing here, dana, is that this this district for a good 30 years, it was leaning democrat in the last few years. that's changed quite a bit. joe biden won this race, a beat trump by about eight points by eight points in 2020. and george santos lost to tom suozzi. bye by double digits in 2020. but just two years later santos was able to beat his democratic rival by seven points. so you can kind of get a sense of how the mood of the district is changing. and so we'll see what happens and we'll continue to talk to voters as much as we can and see who comes out on top which party's messaging. wednesday. >> dana. >> so interesting and athena, the

and tom suozzi is a pretty unique candidate for the democrats. he's a former congressman, former mayor, county executive. he's been around for over 30 years on the political scene in this district, and he's got a track record of breaking with his party on issues like immigration, on crime that he was able to leverage in the course of this election. so he does occupy a bit of a unique place, but i definitely think we are going to see and have already begun to see democrats try and go on offense on immigration. this is the issue that republicans think will be their best issue this cycle. and we saw suozzi go on offense on immigration and especially following the collapse of the border bill in the senate, we've seen democrats turn that question on its head and say the republicans, well, what are you doing to try and stop? up the crisis? we have a bill. you voted it down, right? all right. and i want to also talk about the fact that the likely republican presidential nominee, former president donald trump and the president joe biden, were not really

you can see that is a margin still of 20 points for tom suozzi, more than 80% in.night, there are two recent elections to reference this this year. one was the 2022 midterms, where the democrats loss at the district, and they only won this queens portion of the district, by four points, and then there is the 2020 presidential election, when joe biden won the district, and once the queen portion of the district by 19 points. this clearly is on track to land somewhere at or above joe biden's performance in 2020. democrats have gotten everything that they wanted out of queens and more. this is a significant path floor suozzi over what the benchmarks were for democrats in queens. it also suggests that this is the crucial part why we are waiting for a chunk of nassau to come in. there was a trend in queens and nassau that was identical between 2020 and 2022. this is, again, 2022, and this is 2020. and on the nasa side at the district, in 2020, two republicans won it by ten points, and intend the 20, joe biden won it by five points. so, what is that, that was a swing, te

tom suozzi is a commonsense get stuff done kind of public servant who has demonstrated throughout his entire career and that is the record and vision that he is presenting to nassau county and queens in advance of tuesday. and we put it in their hands. as always, trust the judgment of the voters and let's see what happens in the aftermath of the election as to what it all means.
