tom watson made a few decisions that i think could be second-guessed.y the players are the ones on the playing field. they're the ones that have to garner the winning shots and the winning putts. yeah, there's some chemistry issues maybe that you might not want to kept one pairing going and gotten phil mickelson sitting on saturday. that might be a little head-scratcher. but he didn't play well on friday. but it's not the captain. it's ultimately the players. but the u.s. has to figure something out because the european side goes all-in in the ryder cup. it is tremendously important to them and it shows in their inspired play. they can play lackluster golf all year leading up to the ryder cup. when they throw on that uniform and stand on that tee with a partner looking at them, they rise to the occasion time and time again. they've got a template that works. they're not going to mess with it. the u.s. had a template that works, to phil mickelson's point, in 2008 that got the americans to play a little bit more inspired team golf together, and maybe that
