tom: we have fed speakers later this week, and the pce index as well. how will markets position towards the end of this week. it is remarkable to think that swaps markets are pricing for .2% by the end of the year. >> we get pce on friday, but because we have gotten ppi and cpi we have a good estimation of where it will come. a lot of the market's attention will be elsewhere, we will be laser focused on lending surveys, what is the reaction function of regional banks? will they pull back on tightening? when we get the senior loan officer opinion survey before the fed meets again, that will cause the fed to pause if those tightening conditions come. the fed has told us many times they will attempt to keep rates high. they will let the balance sheet expand as needed. that is a dire situation for the dollar because if we get to a point in the later half of the year where the fed is forced to cut rates to help regional banking crisis shall i say, the dollar will sink. gold is going to rise, real yields back into negative territory. entrenched inflation coul
