that's with tomasz schafernaker. loveit love it or loathe it, a heatwave is on the way this week and temperatures, at least across england, are expected to widely reach 30 celsius by wednesday. and you can imagine, the heat coming from the south and spreading across much of europe, notjust us but many other countries will be feeling the heat and the hot air will also reach scandinavia where in the last couple of weeks temperatures have been very high, approaching 30 degrees. talking of the northern climes, this is not the only area in the far north where we have been experiencing high temperatures. all the way across the other side of the globe in siberia recently, temperatures have got up to 38 celsius, making it a record, within the arctic circle, these extreme temperatures. it's not completely unprecedented to get high temperatures here, they have been 37 in the late 80s but perhaps it's the frequency with which these records are broken that is somewhat concerning, particularly in the arctic. back to the here and

now the weather with tomasz schafernaker. rain is going to be very hit and miss across the uk in the next few days. now, the late afternoon temperatures today, obviously not a drop of rain and very warm, 26 or 27 degrees, mid 20s in the north of the country as well, and to the very far north—west you can start to see the changes in that weather. so with the first weather front approaching the very far north—west of scotland by the end of the night but for most of us it is clear again and copycat conditions on tuesday. high pressure is essentially still in charge but there is this weak weather front that has sort of snuck into its edge here, so that does mean more cloud and the possibility of some rain across the highlands through the course of the day. there could be some heavy showers in one or two spots across scotland and the very far north of england, but the vast majority of us on tuesday, tomorrow, again, another sunny day and a very warm one, too. then from roundabout wednesday it starts to change. you can see a weathe
