tommy lewis. we're happy to see this report. we're one of the people the consultants talked to. i love how they brought together our recommendations and lots of others in the report. there's a lot for you to think about. one is we need a retail strategy for the city. we sort of pointed this out in a piece that we published today and in two pieces we published on livable city site earlier this year. we don't really have one. we don't have a land use element of our general plan. so we're out of compliance with a state law there. a lot has changed in retail. we need to reflect that. we also need to really unction the role of retail in creating walkable communities and sustainable communities and livable communities. that's nowhere reflected in the city's plan. nowhere do we say we want retail because it creates walkable communities, eyes on the street, all those things. it's not explicit. the new state general plan guidelines really talk about communities, there's a strategy for all kinds of things, health, equity, livability, sustainability. we really need to embrace that as a cit
