um, doug schmidt and steve scherr who beat tommy norman in this trial liked tommy norman. i wasn't particularly friendly toward tommy norman. i didn't describe his style, but if you could imagine -- remember stanley tucci sort of slithering through the devil wore prada? that was kind of tommy's -- tommy would never say "said" if he could say "aver." he was a pretend white house kind of guy with a widow's peak. schmidt and scherr felt so badly for him that they seriously discussed offering him a partnership in their firm.
