you tony: yeah.ell, going to so many different and cities, there is a lot of positive impact, right? i was able to learn about various different types of people. being in new york, and then being in texas, being in the midwest, they are very -- human nature is the same, but the way they display it might be different. emily: how do you think that affects your work and how you lead? you tony: i think a lot of times -- by always being the new kid, you are always distanced from what is going on around you. so, you're always analyzing. you're evaluating. you're seeing what people are doing and not doing, because you are not in it. you are more of an observer. that helps, because it allows me to step back and analyze the in a -- analyze the situation, not just inside the company from a human perspective, but also from a product perspective. what are people using? how are they using them out in the real world? emily: your grandfather had a big influence on you. he was a carpenter, right? tony: yes, he was.

tony leads the group save silver spring, david smith, president of the dean wood citizens association and daphne doyle banbo with alpha kappa alpha sorority. welcome all of you to "viewpoint." david, dean wood made the headlines because of the two high-profile killings at the metro station involving teenagers, teenage victims and suspects. how are people about safety in their community? >> i think the reactions of the community are predictable based on our concerns over the past few years. we've kind of sceeen this comin. we look at indicators at the health of our community such as graduation jobs, health disparities and concentration of poverty and we've seen an influx of new residents that fall within those danger areas, and we've seen an increase in crime that are directly tied to poverty. so we've been pushing for some time to try to be proactive in how we get ahead so the recent incidents of violence to us, we've boiled completely over because to us it was predictable. >> do people feel safe in their homes, walking down the streets? >> well deanwood is a very interesting communit

tony dokoupil is standing by.y, we got word that charges would come down and now we are seeing and hearing these individuals, their names and the allegation that evidence had been tampered with in this investigation. >> reporter: that's right, tamron. i can give you some more detail about these charges. our affiliate wdiv was in the courtroom when they were unsealed. you read the charges, mike glasgow, he ran the water treatment facility here in flint. he was responsible for treating the water coming out of the river behind me. it was supposed to have corrosion control in it. it did not at the direction of the state, according to him. there was a moment when a red flag went up and it was believed that lead content in the water could be of concern and there was a period of testing. at that point testing was supposed to be done on lead pipes, water coming out of lead pipes to see if it was leeching into that lead into the water. mike glasgow certified that the testing that he did was on lead pipes and that the lead

. >> reporter: say ran tony since we last spoke to you this has gone from a double stabbing to the first fatal. let me step aside so you can see the seen. this initially stretched for self blocks. now police really have condensed things here to 300 block of south glebe road. you can see a very large police presence a command center and a lot still going on. what we understand is it was just after eight maybe about -8g:15 when people say there was an argument between two men. then appears to have turned into a stabbing. reports one of the victims programs bloody and hurt was running in the area. initially they thought an assailant had run into one of the houses they think it was one of the victims running for help. police tell us they were able to take one of the victims to the hospital but he later died. they have not released his he was about 46 year old. both of these victims were men the other victim has non life-threatening injuries. they are beginning to piece the seen together. there are reports there was a car going by that may have been involve. police tell us that is something t
