joining me tonight, mike, tony, and a special guest appearance by bonawyn we're wrapping up a rough day on wall street. stocks plummeting after hotter than expected cpi data nasdaq falling more than 3.5%. each index closing out its worst week since january mike, start with you >> it's pretty grim. i think that much is clear and i think one of the things we have to take a look at is you know, what's the next level i think for the s&p. it seems very difficult for me to imagine we're not going to retest those late may lows i think that those are firmly in play at this point and i'm kind of, you know, the thing that's more surprising to me is that people are surprised by these inflation numbers. if you're sort of tracking the data, i think that high inflation is well understood by now. we didn't expect this number to be any lower than it is, but i think what we're really looking at is that rates are going to have to go higher and i mean a lot higher to start correcting this and if rates go higher, there's room for equities to go substantially lower. >> tony? >> yeah, that's exactly right. w

tony, play the name if you think this one inches lower from her now.ony >> yeah, frank, as you said, some of these stocks that have held up quite well like caterpillar, i think there is reckoning coming for stocks like this especially ones that are further at risk from inflationary perspective. if we take a look at the chart here of caterpillar, this is a stock that largely has been range bound between 190 and 230 and just a couple of days ago, we bounced off of that 230 upper bound and i think we're headed back towards the lower around $190 or so but more importantly, if you look at the chart of caterpillar relative to its sector, the industrial sector, you see that it's currently forming this double top after what has been a very strong relative performance since the november lows and this is really from my perspective a good time to bet on what could be some underperformance for this particular stock. but this is really where i think the technicals and fundamentals align well because caterpillar is currently trading nearly 17 times next year's earni

tony >> that's right.i'm certainly playing for a bounce here in the broader markets and i'm simply using apple as a proxy here for the market now, if we look on the chart here for apple, an important level we have to pay attention to is the 130 level we just touched yesterday. and i think if you look at this level, this is the level we broke out from at tend of last year the fact we returned to this level provides a good risk reward ratio for long exposure here in the broader markets and in a single name here like apple. i think the more important chart here is to look at is the relative chart of apple to the technology sector. what we've seen is since the november selloff in the broader markets, apple has outperformed the sector by 17%. not only outperformed the sector, but the market it's recently pulled back on the relative chart to a level of support. so this is where i think from a timing perspective, we're going to see apple outperform both in sector and the market itself so the, then when you look a

tony >> yeah, the airlines have really been hit quite a bit. especially last couple of weeks as the looming recession but i actually think now is the opportunity to potentially capitalize on the airlines if we look at the jet etf, which is an if airline international etf, it is been trading in this very clear downward channel. and just last week we hit the bottom of that channel and what we've seen here is a bit of a bounce of that bottom and i think we're simply headed back toward the top end of the channel. but i think what is interesting is that despite the lower low that we made last week on etf itself on an absolute basis, relative to the market, if you look at jets relative to the s&p, it made a higher low and this is the first clue there could be some opportunity here in the airlines and then if we look within the jets etf across the spectrum of airlines, there is one that jumped out and it is one that analysts don't particularly love which is united airlines. and what we see here is that despite an airline that all of the analysts hate,
