[applause] that amazing tribute, i left my heart in san francisco. performed at the farmont hotel in the vunesia room for the first time. that has been a true ballot and contribution to san francisco that is like no other song that exists. today as we recognize him and his legacy and his love for san francisco, we will honor him by dedicating a cable car named for tony bennett. [applause] thank you again for everyone who is joining, those who live here, those who work here, those who visit here. those who got dressed in outfits that represent san francisco's history early on, but also the movement. the first birthday in 1970 was here in san francisco in golden gate park and it set off a movement for environmental change, environmental justice and a number of things. i can go on and on about how great san francisco is, but i know you will experience it for yourself on this cable car, so thank you all so much for being here and i want to turn it back over to rick. we've lost tom petty, prince, tony bennett, and i think jimmy buffett is right there with one of thoseill never be forgotten. i live in nashville, but right now i'm in london writing songs, actually, and i'm carrying his spirit to london where i'm writing songs now. he just -- i had the great fortune of recording at his studio in key west. and with every song i wrote, i could feel his spirit. i think you could ask any songwriter world over and they would say jimmy buffett is a huge, huge influence. i like what biden said about him. >> how do you bottle that up? i mean, you have said that you've modelled some of your own career after jimmy buffett. what is it you try to take as inspiration? >> the joy of life. the adventure. living every moment. i moved to nashville, jimmy lived in nashville for a while and he went down to key west. key west changed his life. i went to key west, key west changed my life. i'm fortunate enough to have the theme song of key west. i walked in his footsteps to key west, where hemingway walked. i walked to his footsteps and met captain tony and wrote a song,

san francisco was the san francisco of tony bennett, and that's what she made sure came back of the 49 ers. yes and so she gave that image. she loved the city, the skyline. you know, she would fight tooth and nail for it if a building was ugly. she didn't want it. so she she helped define the city. she helped define the bay area. and in a larger scale, the nation. she you know, there's she wasn't a senator for the sunday morning talk shows. right. right. okay. she wasn't always running for something or trying to get the name in the lights. she was trying to get the job done. and that didn't make her always the most personable person to be around. >> that's true. >> and she wasn't sort of always on television. always. she was always doing the work behind the scene. >> and she always seemed to have something on her mind. >> well, let's talk about the future. >> i know we're talking about her legacy, which is just beyond compare, but it is now up to gavin newsom. gavin, governor newsom to select a temporary replacement. any thoughts on what might happen? >> well, the governor has is under
