tony dokoupil joins us now from new york with more on his exclusive interview. was president trump's messaging complicating governor newsom's effort to continue social distancing? inthats a gr the governor, like so many governors in this country, is walking a very fine line with regard to the federal government and president trump. doesn't want to openly criticize because he has acknowledged to us he still needs more support from the federal government for things like testing, not the facilities, but the supplies, the swabs and the free agents to reopen the economy. when it comes to reopening the economy, that is what the protests are about. the governor said he is completely sympathetic with peoples desire to get back to work. what he really needs them to do is to continue to take social distancing seriously at this moment because, as he told us, he is fearful that if they open up too soon, there could be a second wave of this pandemic that is even worse than the one we have right now. by the way, the one we have right now, he says is so significant that he doe
