live from new york city, i'm tony harris. we are learning more about a shooting outside a controversial art show in texas. one security guard was shot and the suspects were killed. the center was hosting an event featuring cartoons depicting the prophet muhammed. heidi zhou-castro is at the scene with more. >> we are learning more about how the shooting occurred. garland police say that just before 7:00 last night prior to this event wrapping up, two men drove to the parking lot of this event and they were armed with rifles. they were blocked by a police car and inside that police car was an officer and also an unarmed security guard. police say both parties exited their vehicle and the suspects immediately opened fire on the two, hitting the policeman and the security guard on the ankle. he responded and hit and killed those suspects. >> he did what he was trained to do and under the fire he was put under, he did a very good job. swoand probably saved lives.we think their strategy was to get into the events center and they w

i'm tony harris. it has been raining again in houston, and flood warnings are back from many rivers there. at least 17 people were killed by the fast rising waters that struck there and in oklahoma over the last few days. in the small town of wimberley between austin and san antonio searchers are looking for 11 missing people. >> officials say they tried to warn people about what turned out to be a 46-foot tall wall of water that came down the river over the weekend taking everything in its path. this used to be where a tree stood. this is the hole that the roof left behind as it was up wood wood rooted. you can see the direction that the water traveled and the force of the water that actually sheered the bark clean over of the tree stump there. and of course, homes in the way were knocked off it's foundation in a distance there. you can see the white degree of what remains of what once was a house. another home above the boulder that was moved entirely off it's foundation and pushed down stream. now

i'm tony harris. the pentagon raised the threat level at military bases.amie mcintyre is live for us at the pentagon. is the pentagon responding to a specific threat here? >> well no in raising the threat level from alpha, which is the lowest level to bah woe, which is a higher level of threat the pentagon says it is not reacting to any specific or identifiable threat. technically this order came from the commander in colorado who is responsible for protecting the home homeland, he looked around and sees what is going on in social media and decided it wasn't acceptable for military bases to be at the lowest level. here is what he said, quote: and that's the point they are stressing here. no specific threat. no specific group, but just an increased amount of the kinds of things they can't keep track of on the internet. social media, people talking to each other, the rise of extremism in some places. they felt like this was a prudent step to take. >> so interesting, particularly in the context of texas and what texas -- that event was all about. so what than
