they later arrested hayes, who's the child's father, goodbyes today to des moines police sergeant tony beminio. today, family, friends and more than a thousand officers attended sergeant beminio. it was at the lutheran church of hope in west des moines. the 11-year veteran of the des moines police force leaves behind a wife and three children. he died in an ambush attack last week. today, in a eulogy, the des moines police chief told people sergeant beminio wasn't just good at this job, he was great at "45 if god could handcraft the perfect police officer inside and out, he would look just like tony. command presence oozed from his pores. but his size and strength were just a small part of who he was. he was intelligent, organized, creative, and detailed.
