yesterday a group led by tony perkins at the family research council, a christian evangelical organization put out what they called the minority report statement, 19 people out of a little more than 100 in the platform committee that voted against it because they were upset there was not a chance to offer amendments. it is fair to say the platform probably does not represent everything donald trump wants to do or will do when he is in office. it's true there are advisors to them that want to go far beyond the platform. project 2025, this heritage document, was made by donald trump's advisors and lays out a blueprint. donald trump is densest and sing -- distancing himself from it but we don't know how much will be embraced in a second term. jonathan: how much is it possible for him to distance himself from a document when, at last count, i have 140, this morning on morning joe, more than 200 former trump administration officials working on project 2025. more importantly, russell vought , donald trump's omb director is a policy director for the convention. so, how is it not project 2025 ligh

anthony group told me this past week, she and others, tony perkins as well, have said that they are concerned that removing the federal banned from the platform will depress enthusiasm for donald trump. a more among corps anti-abortion grassroots voters does that worry you not really because i don't think there's much of an option here. >> it looks like no matter who the democrats nominate, it looks like maybe kamala harris would be the most liberal presidential candidate in american history. or a continuation of whoever's running the white house. now with joe biden as it's figurehead the issue is that they are going to be radical. there's only one pro-life candidate in this race and its donald trump, i think his position on this has been that the reality and that is you can't you can't pass a federal law. now, even if we wanted to, you couldn't pass one. but states individ, not states voters. an individual states now have the ability to influence what abortion laws look like under state. and they can have that debate about how restrictive to what level, what exceptions and so forth. you coul

i just want to say, one, you guys had tony perkins on a couple of days ago and he talked about the 14thndment and adding in to the republican platform the 14th amendment being used for protecting unborn children, that's how he termed it. i think that the way the republican party has turned language like the 14th amendment , which was passed after the civil war to address the enslavement of african americans , giving them civil rights, overturning plessy v ferguson. the way that the republican party has, over the past at least 20 years, been turning language on its head, a lot of it is in order to retaliate against losses they feel like they have had since the civil war. host: stephen, make the connection we have -- before we have to move on, the connection between what tony perkins proposed in what you are saying about the last 20 years. caller: i'm saying that this convention, this is a sense of retaliation that they have been breeding in for a long time. that's when a lot of people are feeling they don't want to be associated. they don't want to be associated with retaliation. host: i
