my name is assistant deputy chief tony rivera. a lot of time and effort went into the design of this vehicle. this was our newest design lately for fire engines. it is actually a groundbreaking design. the maneuverability of this vehicle is unbelievably incredible to address the tight and narrow streets of san francisco. we were able to incorporate a lot of new technologies acialtion. also. this fire engine was actually featured on "wired" magazine. i think it is the first fire engine they've ever featured. and we've also been featured in many trade magazines because of a lot of the features that we incorporated. also, this vehicle has a reduced emissions, not only to the federal standards, but we actually exceeded federal standards by adding some components to the exhaust system, which further reduces emissions. and this vehicle is actually so popular, my office is constantly getting requests for the specifications so that other departments not only in the united states, but also in canada, can use this as their template for thei

>> good morning, commissioners and straf, assistant deputy chief tony rivera. i've been part of the process, and as a representative of the department, i've been ensuring that the needs of the department are vocalized and communicated to the developer. i think we're heading in the right direction at this moment. and we've done some preliminary work. we also have included d.p.w. in all of our talks, and we have submitted drawings of our newly-built station on greenwich, station 16 and station 5, which is actually more closely resembling the needs of station 13. the developer, related, has all of this information. we're available for them, and we have ongoing talks in the development process. we're still kind of in the design phase. i believe once we get more formalized, we're going to start bringing in the operations chief to kind of look at, you know, how we're going to be able to respond and possibly because of the change of the entrance, which would now be on washington as opposed to sampson, some traffic issues that we're ironing out, also. >> thanks, chief.
