sarah. >> reporter: well, alison and tony police in riot gear started the sweep in lower manhattan, early morning hours take a look the city deemed the park an increasing health and fire safety hazard. so the order was given to clear out the demonstrators what you are looking at now are live pictures coming to us of protestors being allowed back into the park, there has been a back and forth going on this morning, they were told to get out, by police so they could sanitize that park, so the crews went in cleaned the area where people have been camping out for the past two months officers made 70 arrests including some people, who chained themselves together, protestors were told they could return but without their sleeping bags, tarps and tents but just minutes ago associated press is reporting that a court order will allow protestors to return with their tents to the park mayor bloomberg, just held a news conference as well to explain the decision to clear the park here is what he had to say. >> overtime, i have become increasingly concerned as had the owners of the park, brook field pro

sarah simmons. >> welcome to fox 5 morning news. going to be a little bit chilly as you head out. let's check in with tony perkins for the latest. >> yeah, here it comes. we'll see cooler temperatures certainly for today for the next couple of days definitely. and some other stuff going on as well. let's jump right in. we'll start with hd radar. a couple more showers out there early this morning so we're not quite done yet. most of you aren't seeing any precipitation currently but there is a little more rain to get through, even a little spot of heavy rain down to our south and west near culpeper. but for the morning hours, a few more showers coming through and out to the north and west, believe it or not, i think tucker mentioned this, a chance of a couple of snow showers off to the north and west during these morning time hours. right now, reagan national airport reporting a temperature of 51 degrees. relative humidity, 66%. winds are out of northwest at 17 miles per hour. it will be rather blustery, quite cool as well. forecast for today looks like this. plenty of clouds this morning give way to partly

sarah simmons. welcome to fox 5 morning news. already saw some cars out there. maybe heading to work, maybe heading to grandma's house. hello, tony perkins. >> we have some heavy rain off to the east. rain showers across portions of the region including heavy rain off to the east right now as you continue to see the motion in the atmosphere. eastern maryland seeing some very heavy rain. we've had reports of that kind of activity in st. mary's city, waldorf, places like that. we'll continue to see some problems through the course of this morning. now, out to the west, not so much in the ray of rain. you will notice another band of rain getting organized. that will enhance and move through the area a little bit later. so we are not done yet. current temperatures at the area airports, i believe this is the most mild air we've had early in the morning this week. 62degrees at reagan national. 56degrees right now at dulles and 61 at bwi marshall. these are your current temperatures. kind of a complicated forecast. our high temperatures as we said yesterday, our high temperatures will be early in the day. later on, after a secondary fro

sarah simmons. good morning to you on what is i guess a foggy kind of day as we start out. let's say hello to tony perkins. >> good morning. the fog really a bigger problem than the rain this morning. we've had some rain showers. for the most part, we're done with that. might be another shower or two but the fog is pretty thick and dense in sports of the area. let's look at hd radar. we have it on fog mode so that we can show you where the fog is this morning and you can see generally speaking, north of washington, north and east, north and west be and out to the west, there is that's where the most dense fog is with the most dense fog in western maryland and western portions of virginia and the panhandle of west virginia. very dense fog but even closer to our region, we have some fog up near frederick, maryland, leesburg, winchester, columbia, all these areas dealing with fog, annapolis, severna park. not so much in the district at least not at this point but this will slow down your commute or hopefully it will slow down your commute, allow a little extra time this morning. let's take a look at
