let's bring in tony sayegh, u.s. treasury assistant secretary for public affairs. ction of laundry list from the talking points from the democrats? i know what it is going to be, but do it. >> good morning stuart. great to be with your panel and viewers. what is interesting, last eight years led to know wage growth. we focused on distribution. when you think the democrats are suggesting we'll bust the deficit, essentially from a group that doubled the debt in eight years because of their policies. we're confident with the growth we're projecting from tax reform, base broaden, pay fors in this, we'll get to actual deficit reduction within the next 10 years to pay down the debt. that is very important aspect. we have to revised growth number of 3.1% in the second quarter. democrats saying we can't sustain 3% growth ongoing. that is simply false. we don't want to engage in the political rhetoric here. the bottom line, the american economy needs to grow. we need a tax system that works for everybody, not just the wealthy and well-connected and lobby its here in washingt

the tony sayegh, with us, assistant secretary of public affairs at the treasury department. gnment of major proportions. how do you feel about it, the guy at the treasury? >> stuart, first of all, very good to be with you and your viewers. thanks for having me. look, you have a president and secretary of the treasury and a whole bunch of people working in the administration who consistently put people before politics. that is the new order here in washington, d.c. certainly above partisan politics. something important happened yesterday, we did not play politics with important relief efforts underway in the gulf coast for hurricane harvey. potential efforts underway for hurricane irma, picking up steam. we made the decision collectively as republicans and democrats, that is very significant development. the secretary feels positive and supportive of this as well. i think now you have us focus on next three months on the top priority of the president, secretary, members of capitol hill's congressional leadership and others which is tax reform. that is what we'll be doing. stua
