she said, i don't think about tonya harding ever. she has three kids. to gymnasts and ballet and everybody else. i hopeful won't have to talk about it again. >> she looks remarkly similar to the way she did 20 years ago. >> i want what she is having. she looks fantastic. >> she looks great. watching the documentary it jarred my memory to all of the things that transpired during that time especially the olympics after '92 had separated into doing every two years so we got that burst going back to the winter olympics so quickly in '94 and that jarred my memory to all of this. i remember being in college and absolutely enamored by this story and every little inch of it that we could get more of and the fact that nancy kerrigan, the good girl, tonya harding, the bad girl. as she points out, what did, you know, the people in tonya's life, her divorced husband and all of these goof balls he was hanging out with, what do they have to gain by doing this? it was tonya had a lot to gain bying doing this. did they come up with this idea on their own? i don't know.

he goes over to the referee-- reminiscent of, frankly, of what tonya hard dignity with her skates 20 years ago, withdraws, waves to the crowd and is gone. that drama 30 minutes later of followed by jeremy abbott who fell hard on his quadruple jump, and instead of getting right up, popping up the way most skaters do, he just laid there and it seemed like forever, an eternity, his coach was about to rush out on to the expies help him but he popped up and kept going and the crowd spurred him on. incredible drawm and only in figure skating. it never, ever disappoints. >> woodruff: i want to talk about snowboarding and how well the american women have been doing. >> reporter: well, yes, the american women, with x-game sports we look at it from shaun white to the slope styles of skiing. the u.s. women of course are going to be stars of these olympic games in large part of course because these are our best female athletes and they get a chance to shine at the olympics. but i think if you look at it in total, and, again, say these edgy extreme x-game sports, the u.s. is doing great. all four

the tacker was linked to skating competitor tonya harding's ex-husband. harding herself ultimately pleaded guilty to conspiracy. the u.s. skating governing organization determined that harding knew of the attack in advance and banned her from competition for life. a new documentary airing tomorrow examines that case. >> though she missed nationals, it appeared kerrigan would have time to recover in time for the olympics. three days after the olympics, she sat next to harding for a photo. >> it just felt strange. always looking for somebody to run out and do what they did to nancy to other people, including myself. >> i had people asking me, do you think she had anything to do with it, you know? and my reaction to that was, that's ridiculous. to me, this had to have been some random act. >> nancy kerrigan came back to win the silver medal in the '94 games. he is in sochi as an analyst for nbc and joins us now. thank you, nancy. you have had an amazing career as a world class figure skater. does it bother you to still have to discuss this incident that happ
