it looks like an epic snowstorm probably going down in the top five and possibly even the top post more storms of all time. we only need 16.7 inches of snow and this will be in the top five. we need 20.6 inches and it will be in the top two. the biggest snowstorm on record at reagan national airport is 28 inches and that was back i 1922. that will be difficult but 20 inches is pretty likely across most of our region. we are in district heights, maryland and is 33 degrees. is one degree above freezing. that does not mean it cannot snow. it is snowing right here. it is not sticking to the ground at this moment. it will begin to. the heavier the snow comes down and the more than snow keeps coming down, the more the roads will: the grant will cool and the snow will start to stick. not much in terms of wind but the wind will pick up. take a look of the storm time line. this is the estimated accumulation for the district and the immediate metro area. up until about 3:00 p.m., only about two inches on the ground. by 7:00 p.m., about four inches but between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the heaviest

here's a look at our top stories. no word this morning said a suspect and carjacking in northeast baltimore. it happened around 2:30 friday morning in the 1300 block of stone what road. police say a 23 year-old man shot in the chest during the attack. he was dressed to johns hopkins hospital. he was listed in critical condition. the rural services were held yesterday for the security guard killed last weekend in downtown baltimore. police say 37 year-old james ball was on duty at the bank of america plaza in downtown charles street when he tried to start -- stop a fight. one of the people in the fight pulled down and fired. police have no leads in this case. a maryland mayor his two dogs were killed in a raid on his home can proceed in his lawsuit. back in july 2008, a swat team raided his home after smuggler sent a package containing marijuana into this town. officer shot and killed the family's two dogs. police later cleared him and his family of any wrongdoing. he is mayor of berwyn heights. local health officials

ten storm, probably a top seven storm for the washington area.o that is how it looks. i want to show you the specific numbers that we think at this point, we might tweak them a little bit. these are the accumulations that we are going to see during the course of this storm. the storm begins. first of all, it will move in from the southwest and move northeast across the region. those of you living south an west of the district will see snow before those you have in the district or north and east of the district. snow begins friday generally speaking around noon. some of you might see it at 10:00 to the south and west. you are up in baltimore. it might be 1:00, 2:00, something like that. by this evening at 2:00, we think generally speaking two to six inches on the ground. by tonight at 11:00, we think six to nine inches on the ground. and in some places, a little bit more because that snow starts to pick up. by saturday more than, 14 to 16 inches will be on the ground. bulk ofhe heavy snow occurs late friday night into early saturday morning. then
