i'm tori campbell. pleasanton police are investigating the death of a mother and a daughter shot in their home. christien kafton has more on this story. >> reporter: investigators are still trying to put together the pieces as to exactly what happened inside this pleasanton home yesterday afternoon. now, in just the last hour and a half, we received an update from pleasanton police. investigators are telling us, they are waiting on the results of an autopsy before coming to any conclusions. the police investigation began after a 911 call about a shooting on citicy court in pleasant -- stacy court in partly pleasanton. the 911 call came from the husband after he discovered the body inside the home. investigators say he's not a suspect in this case, that he's been very cooperative with investigators and is distraught over the deaths. earlier police had indicated they were not looking for any suspects which could include to the conclusion this was a -- lead to the conclusion this was a murder suicide. they

i'm tori campbell. it's thursday, may 10th. >>> happening now -- residents forced to evacuate after a massive fire are anxiously awaiting for the green light to return home. ktvu's claudine wong is at the santa clara housing development where several three-story homes under construction were wiped out. claudine? >> reporter: well, it may be a while before those residents are allowed back in. you can see the damage behind me this morning and the people who are still not being allowed in are in the neighboring buildings but firefighters say there's still a lot of work to be done. in the meantime, the residents are being allowed back here and they are telling us how terrifying it was as they ran to safety. this fire broke out at around 10:00 near el camino and scott street. it took about an hour for firefighters to get it under control. at its height, flames were shooting 100 feet in the area. this woman was asleep when the fire broke out and within minutes was running from her home with her newborn, 12-ye

tori campbell has the day off. right now, investigators in vallejo are still on the scene of a fatal police shooting. it happened around midnight at sonoma boulevard and carolina streets. allie rasmus is live now at the scene with what led officers to fire their guns. allie? >> reporter: this is sonoma and carolina street. police had opened up the street. it had been closed. traffic is moving freely. there are some people still here at the clean. 24 all started with a call about an attempted robbery about -- this all started with a call about an attempted robbery, a man called to report a man wearing a white jacket pulling a gun on him. when police arrived, they found the suspect walking along sonoma boulevard. it was at this intersection just under the stoplight where two vallejo police officers where they told the suspect to put down his gun. after the suspect was killed, however, investigators discovered that the gun the man had on him was a pellet type gun, a nonlethal weapon. vallejo police and the solano coun

i'm heather holmes in for tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark.l day, may 28th. >>> we have new information to tell but about an overnight police shooting that happened in vallejo. there was gunfire. it followed a chase. christien kafton has been on this story all morning. just talked to a woman who watched it from her front door. >> reporter: yeah, in just the last 15 minutes or so, we've learned a lot more information but we've moved a lot more closer to the crime scene. some bullet holes are left here from 24 apparent officer- involved shooting. we've learned in the last half- hour sax minutes there were three suspects involved. we've learned one of the suspects died, one was in custody. one of them has escaped. we have video from a little earlier. in -- in that video, you can see one officer was injured. we hear that officer was injured when his k-9 unit apprehended one of those suspects and we're hearing that that suspect was injured by the dog and the other was, too. we also have video of the white lexus coup involved in this accident. -- le
