tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark. it's thursday, july 12 th. we're beginning with developing news from oakland.y was found at the starlight motel on mcarthur boulevard during the night. alex savage is live at the eastmont police station right now. investigators are still trying to find out what happened to her. >> still a lot of unanswered questions for investigators. it's been a violent week here in oakland. the 7th homicide just since friday. the latest one happened inside a hotel room, the starlight motel. officers removed the body of this young woman. she was shot in the head. investigators collected evidence and took photos inside the room. it began with 911 calls that came in around 3:00 this morning. that's when paramedics showed up and found the woman unresponsive in the room. she was eventually declared dead. police won't say if there's anything they're looking at in connection with the crime. it was a nerve-wracking morning for other hotel guests nearby. one woman we talked to told us she heard gunfire and lots of screaming. >> that was too close for comfort. if i would have walked --

tori campbell. >> i'm mike mibach. dave clark has today off.inue with the developing news with the bay bridge tie up. several lanes are closed and won't be opened for hours. alex is live this morning with the current traffic situation. and the police action that started it all. >> this all began with chp pursuit that happened early this morning. and that chase wound up here on this section of the bay bridge the lower deck east of the island. and a source with knowledge of the investigation tells us the driver being pursued opened fire on officers. no one was hit. we can probably see some of those evidence markers in the middle of the roadway. the real problem here is for drivers. traffic barely moving very slow here on the lower deck. only two lanes are open heading into oakland right now. everything started around 1:30 this morning when officers saw a car speeding. the crash crashed here on the bridge and that's when shots were fired. a source says the driver being chased tossed his gun over the bridge and into the bay. this is a very complex
