if you look at the consumer spending side of that report, and on the business side of that report, toseere strong -- those were strong. yes, government spending went down, trade was a big negative for growth in the first quarter, and also the inventory, which surged in the fourth quarter, there was still a high level in the first quarter. so i think it is good to look under the hood of the reports. and we may see some of that happening over time. but again, the goal is to bring inflation under control, have it start moving down toward 2%, and sustain a healthy labor market. i cannot see this as a trade-off right now. in order to make sure labor markets are sustainably healthy, and that we can sustain getting to maximum employment, we need to get inflation under control. mike: would you describe it as whatever it takes, the commission now? loretta: i have focused on the inflation side, because labor markets are incredibly strong and demand on the product side is still strong, so there is no trade-off. we have to do what we can do to get inflation down, knowing that there are other factor

i'm glad tosee some of that was included in the recommendation .g as a top priority in these recommendations and i appreciate mehta and ucsf and others that focused in on the needs of our teachers to be ableto . i think as keen from justice mentioned there is a much broader need for us to create housing for our entire essential workforce and all essential members across industries and our city . the labor council and jobs of justice produced and we had a hearing on that in the land use and transportation committee being highlighted the urgent need for us to create affordable housing for all service workers in the city from healthcare to hospitality to public-sector workers. in addition to housing our educators so this is something that i think is extremely important and i appreciate the focus not just on teacher housing and the recommendations but also workforce housing with affordability and partnership with jobs to justice. i'm in full support of all these recommendations. i think everyone for all your work on this and lookforward to advocating f
