this is a sketch done by townsend of an airplane. and you can see men along the wing and tail. trying to get the plane ready for an alert. there are some things i find either ironic or just plain tragic in some of the artwork. what we have here, this is by dunn. this is a cemetery. in the cemetery, there is a machine gun that was set up to mow the enemy down. it seems to me that is roger -- that is rather tragic. when the american forces came to france, some of them landed in 1917, late 1917. but most of the army became active in france in 1918. so a lot of these pictures were drawn during the time from about april through the end of the war. because it was the army of occupation, some were even done after the end of the war. so you will see, there are some pictures of the american forces entering germany. but this one is by one of my favorite artists. this is by harvey done -- dunn. when he first came over he drew this image of an enlisted man or -- a machine gunner. you might think this machine gunner looks a lot like superman because of the square jaw and broad shoulders and

coming to our board, november 6 th is a long-awaited project on townsend street as well as valencia streeter and forthcoming our projects to improve safety on powell and brandon street. we will be starting construction soon on 19th avenue and valencia. i really enjoyed this picture of valencia. i asked myself if i could return us to that traffic control device and would not be the design we would implement? i would go with that in the train tracks. on our safe people side, there is a huge amount of work from our team. this is our kill with kindness campaign that we are doing around two of -- i'm hopeful that the a.v. works on this one. if it doesn't, i assure you we are doing good work here. there is no sound. ok. thank you. so this is a campaign rolling out to share key information about our safety campaign. as well as we are doing additional radio adds coming soon as well. we will be reinforcing speed limits and anti- speeding behaviour. we have done an in-depth look at left turn collisions. i want to thank the board of directors for your strong support of the townsend improvement plan in july. our office and the neighborhood is incredibly excited we will finally put these improvements in the ground by a corridor utilized by so many workers, residents and tourists. i'm here to voice my really strong support for three critical safety projects in my district. the safer taylor project, sixth street pedestrian safety and howard street near-term improvements for our cyclists. these are three of our most dangerous corridors in san francisco. and i'm preaching to the choir, i know, but 13% of our streets account for 75% of all of our injuries and improving the safety of a very small minority of our streets will vastly improve safety for our entire city which means less people injured and less people killed and we know these injuries and deaths are 100% preventable. on sixth street someone walking is injured by a car every 16 days on average. that's 37 times the san francisco average. on taylor street between 2011-2016, my first six years on the board of supervisors, 53 people were
