news4's tracee wilkins live with the latest details for us. bring us up to speed. >> reporter: well, this is how it all happened. evidently a family member of this 10-year-old girl pulled up here to the sixth district police station, and the 10-year-old girl had been shot. now, police got her out of the vehicle, transported her to the hospital. she was shot in the lower body. they do believe that she's going to be okay. we have reports from police that this child was shot while inside of the truck. now, we counted at least two bullet holes in the back of the truck there. aimed at the back passenger area. and we are assuming that that's where this young girl was sitting when this all happened. now this happened at new york avenue and fenwick street in northeast, which is quite a ways from here. but the family member drove the truck here to the sixth district police station for some reason. and brought the child here. now police are investigating exactly what happened. but because of where this shooting happened, this is divided now between two
