tracy: i am tracy alloway into dubai.ant to start off with a chart that summarizes what is relevant for the region this morning. this is the yield on the u.s. benchmark 10 year, hurtling towards 2.5 percent, quite a change from earlier in the year. i believe ise loyal, obviously recovering off the back of that opec deal. when you see a chart like this, do you think the paradigm has shifted? >> i think it is not a paradigm shift, but of phase we have to go through. i'm not sure we will see oil at $80 or $90. if we were talking about those numbers, we would be fearful of those prices driving bond yields 23% and beyond. we are absorbing this level, and that probably agrees with a 10 year bond yield of 2.5% in the future. other trend is inflation expectations rising off the back of donald trump's planned infrastructure spending, fiscal stimulus. easier ormake life harder for the federal reserve at this juncture? >> it is easy to increase interest rates, and they want to to do that anyway, so they have plenty of excuses given

tracy: i'm tracy alloway.reaking news -- the emirates economy tracker is just out with a fresh reading of 55.24 november, up from 58 in october. joining us to discuss is the head of nina research for emirates nbd. i suppose we should start with the obvious question -- what is driving this economy? >> in november it was strong for travel and tourism. they actually reached a serious high in terms of pmi rating. that certainly signals a very strong rate of growth in the tourism sector. tracy: so if travel and tourism -- if they are the best-performing sectors, is that a vindication of dubai's economic transformation, or are there short-term factors at play? one of the factors which may have had an impact on the november numbers is the introduction of these on arrival for chinese visitors, announced in september, but only coming into effect late october to early november. i think that may have contributed somewhat to the exceptionally high reading for travel and tourism. it has been adjusting really well to the fa

tracy: let's talk about that outlook a bit more.articular saying it can cover it spending and dividends without having to borrow. it's down from an earlier estimate of $60 per barrel. how is bp achieving that spending? robin: well, like all of the major oil companies it has been a focus on cost switches. also there has been a lot of cost deflation. so the cost of high drilling rigs has come down dramatically. i think this will be a long process of continuing to squeeze out costs. it does take a long time. i think some of the cyclical costs will start coming back -- cyclical costs versus return. on the other hand, there is the cost of investment and the industry has to invest in its future at some point. so talk about the deep water in the arctic and so on. adco and obligor the is the wouldte opposite -- and i dobby is the complete opposite end of the spectrum. of course, the operating position is very, very large. they are kind of unique. -- reservese more like this in iran or iraq, but there's far more political risk. yousef: comin

tracy: you mention the dollar.hat is an important thing for people in the region given the dollar peg. if we have a stronger dollar, a bond market selloff, that equates to a tightening of financial conditions which can be painful for many markets around the world. how do you see that? >> i agree and i think we see tightening already. are already -- it is already 1.3, 1.4. therefore the markets are tightening and priced in. providing it happens on a gradual basis. maybe one in december and in 2017. i think we may see some shakeup. i think there will be some kind. if you look backward, we are talking 1.55. people are exiting from that. where will the cycle continue? i doubt that. i think it is the worry of inflation. a stronger dollar at the same time, with high oil prices would make this a more bumpy ride than people think. angie: in terms of strategy had he look at 2017 if you think we're going to get the pullback? >> this is a question i think a -- people havere said maybe u.s. equities could be good. for the loca
