nbc's tracie potts joins us with more. tracie, gong to you. >> reporter: veronica, good morning. the allegations come from a seattle tv station that traveled to el salvador, interviewed a foreign contractor who worked with agents and a strip club owner who said while protecting the president, some took women back to their rooms and bragged that they did this all the tile. now the state department is looking into whether some of their employees may have been involved. here on capitol hill, lawmakers say there are no records indicating any such thing from that trip, but the state department says they will take a look whether their rules were violated. these new allegations come after secretary of homeland security janet napolitano told lawmakers there was no indication that what happened in colombia had of happened before. in el salvador where they were protecting the president, other agencies were also named like the dea, drug enforcement administration. the dea issued a statement saying they're unaware of any such behavior but will check out any credible information. >> tracie po

nbc's tracie potts joins us from washington with more on that. tracie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. let's start in d.c. where the president signed that small business jobs act yesterday which he says will do a couple of things for business. it first of all helps startups get more money from different sources but also helps businesses go public. president obama says when they go public they have more resources and can expand and hire more workers. this is something the white house and republicans worked on jointly and now they'll push for tax breaks for small businesses. turning now to the campaign trail and the masters, if i were a member of augusta, mitt romney says, i'd let women in. also, the white house spokesman said that the president's personal opinion is the same in terms of the all male membership there. meantime, rick santorum has been talking to conservatives. he had a meeting yesterday with a conservative group talking about how to help his ailing campaign and how they might try to encourage newt gingrich to drop out. lynn?
