tracy: i'm tracy alloway in dubai. in doha, give us updates of the situation. remarkable, been the last 24 hours ultimately we are seeing a flurry of diplomatic activity. we are seeing to keep things that i want to point out that are fundamental to the story. number one is lack of diplomatic progress. there is confusion coming out of the united states, rex tillerson trying to balance the situation prevail, theneads having donald trump come in and come down hard on qatar, saying they are a funder of terrorism at a high level. she qatar reaching out to allies like turkey and russia. we understand they have had a meeting, the two foreign ministers, calling for more corporation. that's one side of that. the other side is the ongoing fallout in terms of the economy and credit ratings. in terms of is this and movement of people, as well. plenty there. tracy? yousef: definitely plenty to keep us there. one of the things keeping us there is the u.s. markets. let's look at how they close on friday. the s&p 500 down point o 8%,

tracy: i am tracy alloway.s take a quick check of u.s. markets closed on friday. we did have big news in the form of u.s. payrolls, slightly disappointing. if you take a look at the 10 year treasury yields, that was actually found. treasury is rallying off of the back of that data. downberg commodity index almost 1/5 of 1% off the back of week oil. old rallying on safe haven demand. another great day for the equity markets, shrugging off all that payroll is concerned. s&p 500 hovering close to its record. the dow jones in this and the nasdaq surging to yet another record pretty amazing close from u.s. equities there. is impressive. that will be part of our conversation with tim. let's talk a little bit more about what is happening with treasury yield and the fed. tracy: we did have the payrolls data on friday. it came in weaker than expected. people are starting to adjust their forecast for fed rate hike. the one move in particular is september. if you take a look at the screen behind meet you can see that the

tracy: saudi stocks are not cheap.his chart on the bloomberg shows that saudi arabia's market is very much higher than its emerging market peers. how certain are you about a potential uplift for shares after an msci upgrade? >> it is generally the position of saudi regulators and most regulators around the world to not adhere to the valuation levels of any capital markets. we let the markets decide whether it is a local market or any other domestic market. --ever, we generally [indiscernible] -- largely owing to capital slowing to the markets. how does the saudi aramco listing factor in here? you could make an argument that you should do it after the actual upgrade, but you could do it before to draw investors in. >> because there is a lot of question as respect to whether there is merit to having it before or after, the general of the capital market and the country overall is to the process of inclusion in joining emerging global market -- [indiscernible] tracy: up next, with no end to qatar's isolation insight, we ge

news 4's tracie potts is live on capitol hill. what actions of the president are the special counsel looking into and who do they want to interview? >> reporter: they want to talk to members of the senior national security team, according to the washington post, about whether the president tried to lean on them to somehow get involved in or get the fbi to back off this russia investigation. specifically, according to the post, mueller wants to talk to the director of national intelligence, dan coats, admiral mike rodger nsa and richard leggett who according to "the new york times" may have detailed a conversation between his boss and the president. coats and rodgers when they testified here recently wouldn't say what they talked to the president about. leggett may be able to shed some light on that. according to the post, those are the people that the special counsel wants to talk to. the white house is responding to this saying that the fbi leak of information regarding this investigation is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal. t

nbc's tracie potts joins us with what to watch. hi, tracie. >> reporter: hey, mike and sara.nt is headed to ohio to meet with obamacare victims and give that speech on infrastructure. he's talked about putting more money into building up roads and bridges. he is leaving behind all the questions about russia here in washington. today a lot of those questions will focus on his director of national intelligence, dan coates. according to a new "washington post" report, the president leaned on coates to try to get him to help shut down this russia investigation. officials who say they are familiar with that conversation told the post that coates considered it and then decided that it was inappropriate for him to go to the then fbi director james comey to try to get him to back off. coats will testify here and likely face questions about that report, but he has said in a statement that he never felt pressured by the president or anyone else in the administration to influence any intelligence matters orion going investigations. so coats already refuting that story but, again, likely

the courts have said it's really just discrimination. >> tracie potts on the hill.s 5:49 right now. the house committee on veterans affairs is calling for an investigation after a news 4 i-team investigation into the death of a veteran from northeast d.c. the i-team reported that the feds are looking into whether that deceased man went undiscovered for two days in the parking lot of the d.c. va medical center. scott mcfarland reports on how the feds and d.c. investigators are looking at what happened. >> reporter: a military veteran never returned home two weeks ago monday after a treatment session. they called the center to get help and get a search for the man. 36 hours they say no one found him until his sister drove to the medical center, searched the parking lot and herself found the man's body in his car in that parking lot just outside the entrance. the man's death a police report and multiple sources and the new head of the center says the agency is investigating what might have gone wrong. >> we met with the veteran's sister and expressed our condolences an

tracie potts is in washington, d.c. and good morning. what's the latest on this leak and the russian investigation? >> reporter: what is interesting is it's recent, this report, this allegedly leaked report from the nsa just from last month and it details phishing attempts and a cyber attack on an election software vendor according to that report. bottom line, it's a lot more detail than we previously knew about, just how far russia may have gone to hack this election. while you were at the polls last november russia wasn't just trying to influence your choice with fake news. they were literally trying to hack your vote, according to a leaked document from the national security agency. published by the online news website the intercept. >> there should be no doubt here that the russians were behind this. this fits with a pattern for what they have done in the past, the digital and cyber forensics point to the russians. >> reporter: russian president vladamir putin denied it in an exclusive interview with nbc. >> i haven't seen even once

tracie, what's coming up for the investigation? >> reporter: first of all, what could be the most explosive testimony of all, frances, james comey testifies publicly for the first time about his conversation with president trump. sources have said he felt the president was trying to pressure him on backing off on the russia investigation when he was in charge there at the fbi. the white house said the president would never do that. this will be the first public testimony about that closed door conversation. we also this week will hear from the director of national intelligence and the head of the nsa. two other top security officials facing the same questions. what were their conversations and interactions with the president and his team and were they trying to get the intelligence community to pack off this russia investigation. the other two will testify on wednesday. comey comes before lawmakers on thursday as they take what's really been the most significant testimony in weeks in this russia investigation. frances. >> all right
