tracy: it gets to a serious point.out full employment anymore and does full employment become a little more difficult for the fed to gauge when you have donald trump's be of the firm belief that there is a huge segment of the american population of their who could be working and isn't? jim: i think that is a key issue here. it is labor force participation which is still down from the highs of 12 or 13 years ago. labor force participation being lower suggests that our resources and people in the economy that could come in to facilitate growth without causing a lot of inflation. when we talked about full employment back in the 1970's and 1980's, it used to be around the non-accelerating inflation rate of unemployment. that all caps relation is messed up now by the technology effect on deflation. technology is what has kept inflation at bay. most economists thought inflation was coming over the last few years, it hasn't come. the reason is technology driving down costs. i think it really is a goldilocks set of numbers. wh

i'm tracy davidson. >> and i'm vai sikehema. this storm is also causing classes to be canceled at this hour. we have those schools closed at the bottom of the screen. >> the entire area is virtually under this first alert. the concern as we go through today and really it's already starting is accumulating heavy, wet snow. this is going to affect both of your commutes as you go to work, head home from work. we'll see wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour, and with that heavy, wet, sticky snow it could bring down trees and power line. we're barely recovering from the system that moved through on friday. cook look at timing. now through 8:00 we're seeing snow, more of a wintery mix for some locs and mainly rain at the coast. we'll start to see the snow picking up am. between 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. we'll see that steady, heavy, wet snow making a mess of the roads. and once the system moves out because it's a quick moving system, we'll still be dealing with messy roads. that's something to remember as you go through your day. be very, very

i'm tracy davidson. >> and i'm vai sikehema. this morning dozens of schools are closed after the major storm impacts were felt. and we're tracking that. >> that's right. yet another storm is heading our way as we push into late tuesday night into wednesday. today we're going to start off with cold temperatures but lots of sunshine towards the afternoon. temperatures in trenton in the 30s. 29 in lancaster and 29 in reading. we'll continue to see gusty conditions or feels like temperatures will stay basically in the high 30s, low 40s. satellite radar shots showing us quiet conditions. but that again is going to change for us as we go into late tuesday and wednesday. as far as the next couple of hours are concerned, your late morning hours, 39 degrees for philadelphia. feels like temperatures closer to 31. cold temperatures by the time you head out the door. your feels like temperatures are going to be in the high 30s. we'll talk about the second nor'easter and also check in with jessica boyington for a closer look at the roadways.

let's go to the tracy commute. we are also following that. slow traffic on the tracy triangle here.g into livermore. by the time you get to livermore, it does look pretty good. you are really do see some slow traffic. it continues to be pretty good. out to the dublin change. we already have a little bit of a backup in those outside lanes. the middle lanes look pretty good. this is a look at the bridge itself. traffic is moving along pretty well and getting into san francisco, once you get there, highway 11, it takes you all the way down to the airport. north bend 11 coming into downtown, that also looks pretty good. approaching the 80 split. it's 4:46. let's bring steve in with today's forecast. >> 3.6 east of gilroy. >> nothing big. >> what are you saying? >> thank you, steve. >> you're welcome. we do have a change in our weather pattern. average highs around 61-65. it's been a long time since we've said that. another beautiful date for those around the bay. and also over the coast. today will not be. we will get some partly cloudy's. farther south, a little more son. 30s and 40s.
