and san joaquin counties, just southwest of tracy.s under control right now, and some residents are being forced to leave their home. good morning. thank you for being with us this half hour. before we get to more on that fire, let's bring in lisa, who's tracking the latest on the wind conditions in that area. and lisa, it's starng to cool down. >> it is definitely cooled down since yesterday, but with those gusty winds over 40 miles an ur that created that explosive growth. but right now in and around the fire, you'll notice the temperatures are in the low 50s in livermore, relative humidity up to 97, and the winds have dialed back there anywhere from the southwest at six to about 19 miles an hour. so that's a lot better than 38 miles an hour when we got in here this morning. so the green indicates the relative humidity higher as we go through the day to day. and the upper level winds will continue to usher in not only the breeze and the cooler weather, but some extra cloud cover. so throughout the day today, the winds will be a fact

so the current conditions near near tracy, in and around tracy are favorable for containing the fire. the thing is, when you get closer to the fire, these massive fires can generate their own powerful gusts at the base of the fire. okay, so the basic conditions right now in and around tracy, 67 degrees. so it's not hot. obviously relative humidity is increasing to 44. earlier it was a little bit lower and the wind gusts with steady winds about 19mph. the gusts have been up to about 30mph again in and around tracy, but closer to the fire the fires can generate. these uh- wind gusts near the base that are very powerful, that can fan the flames of the fire. but just happy to say that right now all the major weather conditions are moving in a direction favorable for containment. and i'll have the full accuweather seven day forecast a little bit later. yeah that is encouraging. >> all right, spencer, thank you. moving on. new at 11. now. we have reported an awful lot on san francisco's effort to pump life into the downtown area. and tonight might be the very best example the city put toget

developing news right now a wildfire near tracy is just 50% contained this morning. the corral fire is burning a san joaquin county. it started over the weekend, and it quickly jumped in size to more than 14,000 acres. drivers ang five 8-80 could see it for miles. abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez is here with a look at the damage. and gloria, we know hundreds of firefighters are still out there tackling these hot spots. >> they are ready. and, you know, the good news is that firefighters are making progress on this fire right now. the corral fire in san joaquin county is 50% contained. evacuation orders have been lifted and they've been downgraded to warnings. the fire started on saturday afternoon east of a lawrence livermore laboratory site near tracy. more than 400 firefighters responding and two alameda county firefighters were hospitalized for treatment of minor to moderate burns on saturday. colonel gil has lived on bernard drive for about four years, and he noticed that his neighbor's house across the street went up in flames. >> uh. we were in the thi
