i'm tracy davidson. >> and i'm rose mary cop nors. we're starting our wednesday a little chilly.et's get the first alert forecast from meteorologist krystal klei. >> definitely cooler than it was yesterday. we had mid 50s yesterday. we're looking a at a lot of the areas holding on to 40s. 39 in new jersey, we're at 40 in the lehigh valley and 36 in delaware. in fact some of the delaware neighborhoods are showing off a few of the cooler temperatures on the map this morning. winds also not a big factor in today's forecast. instead of seeing the breezy to windy conditions, lit be light to breezy throughout today. that's it. we're seeing the clouds increasing across the map, especially in the northern areas of the map. here's a look. you can just barely tell we're trying to extend a little further south. the thick dense clouds are not going to produce rain. we stay dry and the temperature wills slowly climb. we'll go to about mid-40s in the afternoon before we cool down. we'll talk about the potential of rain/snow mixing in tomorrow. >>> we're starting off in center city right now, t

i am tracy davidson. >> i'm vai sikahema. a wintry mix is changing to rain. it is making for a messy morning commute. let's get right to meteorologist, krystal klei, the first alert neighborhood forecast. you have some pictures of some ice. >> our own pamela osborn has been all over with storm 4 checking out road conditions up through allentown. she was able to tweet some pictures out saying they had those icy conditions because of freezing rain reports. it is hard to tell. there was ice on power lines, which, during a heavy icing event can become a big issue as well as roadways. you can see that pretty easily here. black ice conditions very dangerous for the early morning commuters. good news is, things are starting to turn over to rain. that rain should help to melting that ice. none theles nonetheless, we will leave it under an icy alert because of some ice potential. some showers may linger. the bull believe will start moving out over the next several hours. it will start moving out west and that will move to the east. we still have a good amount of rain.

i'm tracy davidson. and i'm rosemary connors.'re issuing a "first alert" for lehigh valley and berks county, as snow and rain move into the area. erika martin is tracking the area. >> that's right. the "first alert" has an issue because we're tracking a system moving west to east. and it looks like we do have some snow to start the day, especially for part of lehigh valley. satellite radar image picking up on the system. you can see the massive batch moving our way. some blues already showing some midlevel moisture. so for parts of berks county, seeing light now, purples and white. it looks like we will get that snow soon enough by about 5:00 a.m. future weather, lehigh and poconos, keep in mind, conditions are dry. about 5, 5:30 a.m., we start to see the showers settle in place. the concern would be that a.m. commute. slick roads, untreated surfaces and poor visibility. the good news everything is changes over by 11:00 a.m. and cleared by 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. meantime, we're tracking the snow moving into the lehigh valley.

prenatal care is key but as tracy davidson discovered, there are underlying causes that doctors still don't understand. recently tracy spoke with the director from the maternal health research program at the university of pennsylvania. >> the pre-term birth rate in philadelphia county is almost 11%. that compares to 9% of montgomery county. the major cause of that is a tremendous racial disparity. black women have a 45% higher rate of pre-term birth than caucasian women. the biggest problem is racial disparities not new in pre-term birth but we don't understand why. >> we talk pre-term birth, there are some things we know that can help a mother have a regty baby but a lot is the mystery. explain what you're trying to find out. >> what trying to find out why pre-term birth happens. when i give these talks, people want to know, i don't understand, why would we not know? we know about cancer and heart disease. and i asked him a very simple question. why do women go into labor at term? we don't actually know that answer. if we don't understand the normal processions that lead a woman to g
