fox 35's jays tracy jacim has the update. >> what a tough night it was in orange county. high voter turnout but not enough ballots at some of the polling places. we're talking about dozens of precincts so much so that county supervisor of elections bill cowell to ask the governor to extend voting one hour but the governor declined to do so. here's how they restocked the polling places. take a listen. >> well, i think the first time we heard about it was shortly after 9:00 a.m. and then it was an ongoing process because we have ballot on demand printers on here so we were able to print ballots here then deliver them out to the sites. so we went through all the precincts in the cities elections and i think we probably around 1:00, 1:30 in the afternoon had finally gotten ahead of the curve on having enough ballots out there. then we didn't hear the rest of the day from precincts needing more because we would have printed more and sent them. >> there was also some options afforded to those folks who showed up on their way to work or whatever they were going and couldn't vote

tracy jacim with more on the story. >> reporter: it's a county canal fenced off and over that's about 20 feet long. we understand that the victim was some how on that pipe fell off the pipe into several feet of water. other children ran to get help. the fire department responded immediately. and with the child away to according to the sheriff office spokeswoman a group of children were walking home from riverside elementary school here in orlando today and for some reason took a route that passes this canal. it's not a usual route for them. the kids scaled the fence and the victim was walking across the concrete walkway when he fell. we also know rescue crews found him on the embangment when they arrived and this -- embankment when they arrived and it this was 8-year-old son who pulled him from the water. that's very plausible but investigators are still gathering all the par tick lars. >> he's just very -- particulars. >> he has a big heart so this is probably something that he just seen he thought he's like i said he was one of only the children that knew how to swim. so he said i j

tracy jacim is live for us tonight in tiberias. >> hi, bob, that's right. police actually cleared the scene here on dora avenue a couple of hours ago. afternoon, booking him tonight on the second degree murder charge. it was a strange day today about 2:00 p.m. police telling me they showed up here at the request of a relative for a well-being check. when they got here, they found 89 year old carl lang with a gun on a table, and his long-time companion, 88 year old rosemary gets shot and killed, dead. many saying to police that he shot her and killed her as part of a murder-suicide pack. he has been questioned all evening long. police chief told me he was cooperating with police from the get go, answering all the questions, and then just tonight the charges came down. second degree murder. so really we spoke to neighbors. everyone expressing a lot of shock. this was a loving couple, a happy couple. what the motive was, we still don't know. all we know tonight, bob and sonni is that folks are very shocked, a true tragedy. >> tracy, thank you so much. also a d

tracy jacim she's at the orange county supervisor of elections office. >> reporter: an interesting day and an early night. this conviction wrapped up supervisor of elections 251 precincts out of 251 reporting. first let's just take a look a snapshot, if you will of what it looked like as far as voters go. presidentially mirroring what we've seen around the state. donald trump taking it here in orange county, hillary clinton doing the same. trump up 9% over rubio, hillary clinton nearly doubling bernie sanders. also some municipal races here. there will be some runoffs. there were some very tight races. one of the bigger issues the winter park question with regards funding for a brand new library barely passing by just under 200 votes. so i asked the supervisor of visions elections if he thought some points would point to that issue that you mention the ballot shortage that happened earlier today as reason perhaps for losing. he said he's not worried but he imagines the folks that lost may do so. that's how that works. here's what else he had to say about how they were able to restock t
