train was fairly empty. on the way out, going through in a sense that, i saw boarding platform several very full of people. to me from an operations perspective, a good operational move, and that may well have happened, it would have been to switchback one of the outbound trains. to take a big two-car train with three people on it and all the way up to the end of the line and you literally have hundreds of people waiting on the inbound side is not a good use of resources. and running every train and every bus to the end, every line on every run, it just does not make sense given where the population is in terms of ridership. there are some bus lines and train lines, or at least a bus lines, where there is a big amount of people that are at the terminals at the end and those would be less likely to switchback. but on those were there is a gradual tabor or sometimes a sharp tabor, it really does not necessarily make sense to always run to the end of the line every time. i think building scheduled switchbacks i

nobody trains better than the united association, and there is no better example of their training than here in local 38. local 38 as one of the finest training facilities in all of the ua, but that was not good enough, and that is what continues to make the ua what it is. locals like local 38. they were not going to sit down and just say that we have got the best. they're going to make sure that they continue to get better, make sure that they continue to have the best training. and that is the policy of the united association. and local 38's members should be very proud of their leadership that they're able to lead them down this road. i was reading through this little booklet here before i came up, and it gives a little history of training in the united association. it mentions the itf board, which runs all the training. it mentions that larry is a member of that board. what it does not mention is when the board was started, larry, senior, was one of the founding members and the chairman for most of the life of that board and has worked very hard, not only here in his local, local 38

we are planning more training exercises to get this up and running. october 28th is the great shakeout. it will be initiated from sacramento and we will participate with that. they're locked storage areas have been cleared and organized. i want to mention again that we've talked to our directors about this that future improvements would include a wireless system, and reduce set up time during activation. we could be in that room if we have an event, everybody has to leave that we have to activate ceiling tiles and get this things up. many other departments, depending on their resources and budget -- they are at various levels of technology and comfort as we look through those. we are touring those and have various meetings within working groups in the city and we attend those meetings. the emergency command vehicle is currently parked at building 606. it is available for deployment when needed. the continued use and operational costs, it's a ford motor tom, is being determined for effectiveness and efficiency for rapid deployment during an emergency.
