this is transamerica looking east. and right around the water embarcadero area, we are starting to see more of that fog forming and it is pretty thick out there. but it's been kind of swirling around the bay. a lot of areas around the coast seeing it. visibility map showing where it is right now: check your flights for delays because of fog in the area. concord dropped to one-mile visibility so it's going to be near zero for some places in the north bay especially petaluma and napa. fog today and tomorrow. our winds are very calm. and that's not helping. that's why that fog is not moving out. usually winds push it out. that's not the case today. here's another view of that fog out there from our roof camera. patchy fog will be here in the morning commute this morning and cloudy this afternoon but more sun will be arriving just in time for the weekend. i'll explain coming up. michelle and kenny? >> thank you. the confirmed death toll in the southern california mudslides has risen to 17. >> and at least that many people

the transamerica pyramid now, 49 degrees in san francisco. it does feel cooler than this time yesterday. temperatures in the 30s and low 40s for oakland and concord. santa rosa also 40 degrees. so here's what we can expect with this storm that's coming in. first we get the moderate to heavy rain by noon today especially through san francisco. it will move further south by the afternoon. then tomorrow morning, we'll get a slight break maybe some light showers for the morning commute but then the afternoon tomorrow, thunderstorms and hail expected because there's unstable air that's on its way when this low does arrive. so first we are getting this band of rain that comes in, then a break, then the low comes in later and brings us thunderstorms for tomorrow. so that's a lot of unstable air that could be a concern of course when there's hail coming down right during that afternoon commute. so that's when that's expected. for today and tomorrow as far as rain totals go, we could get anywhere from possibly a half to 1.25 inches of rain for the nor

this is our transamerica camera looking east. this one looking north.ook at that, you can see coit tower now. we can see that this morning. our sutro camera though is a gorgeous shot. so here's what we can expect for the rest of the day. you can expect to see sunnier conditions of course through a lot of areas as the fog burns off warming up for the afternoon and we do have two storms to talk about this next weekend. so usually this next week. but first we'll get through a nice weekend. the weekend is on my mind! get ready for it. the most of the fog is hanging right around the bay, oakland airport half mile visibility, sfo 8-mile visibility but i just checked flight view there are delays at the airport. so keep that in mind. livermore one mile visibility. so there is still some concern out there if you are hitting the roads row. a lot of the fog hasn't moved out because of light winds. north winds in san francisco, half moon bay also north winds, east-northeast for novato. so we are getting a bit of that valley fog to snake its way around the valleys.

transamerica pyramid -- san francisco good morning, thanks for joining us. with vianey arana with a look at your microclimate forecast. now to a story you )ll see only on nbc bay area... raw, uncovered meat -- being delivered in a shopping cart -- to another south bay grocery store. it )s the second incident we )ve uncovered over the past three days. this problem may be more widespread than we originally thought. on friday we were first to report this -- a photo of two men throwing slabs of raw pork into shopping carts, and hauling the meat into the "99 ranch market" in san jose. our story has now sparked an investigation by the santa clara county health department ... and now -- similar allegations at another store. this is another image we received yesterday. a different customer took this picture two years ago. whole butchered hogs... rolled in shopping carts into the back door of "marina grocery" in south san jose. "christine cabral" says she tried to draw attention the issue it back then without any success. and after seeing our story -- she re-posted t
