taking a live look out at the transamerica pyramid towards the "salesforce tower," you can just see dawn starting to blush the horizon nice and beautiful, looking at the san francisco skyline. your current temperature in san francisco, 55 degrees. cooler in the north bay 50 in santa rosa. 58 in concord. 53 in oakland and livermore. those temperatures are going up. it all has to do with this high pressure system that's flopped down here in the pacific. because of this, we have had those dry warm sunny temperatures and weather basically over the last few days and going into tomorrow. things are going to start to change. for today, though, our winds are going to be northerly which means it's going to be dry. however, this low pressure system that's sitting over vancouver right now is going to start to drop in and bring with it a few changes which we do have especially as far as the fire threat is concerned. we have a red flag warning in effect until 5 p.m. for the bay area hills. look at this, napa all red in the santa cruz mountains red same thing in the east bay pretty much it's going to

by that's, i mean in 1970, the transamerica pyramid had a hole in the ground. it took from 19702 2015 for them to develop it. that is pretty much the last major water project developed by a bay area agency. i think it is something all of us in the room, whether it is water agencies are elected bodies are the environmental's need to realize our projects just don't happen overnight. some of them don't happen in a decade. some of them take decades to do. we have to realize that if things happen to our water rights, if our supplies are contracted by a great extent, we could be looking at decades before we get something online. it is just a conclusion or a challenge that we have to face. not all of them are viable. certainly they come with a price and i think they will have to be regional projects in the future. we don't necessarily have that here in the bay area. may be it is in the santa clara valley. you folks, i have to say you have a great groundwater project and you see local residents going out being worried about it we have to face those issues. environmenta

oh, a beautiful look at the sun shining over the transamerica pyramid in san francisco. can't quite see the golden gate bridge, but nothing surprising there. thanks so much for joining us on this september 8th. i'm kira klapper. vianey arana has a look at our microclimate forecast. >> and you saw that fog kind of off behind building. look at this shot. this is on top of our sutro camera tower and you can see that fog really rolling through. we've got a nice little marine layer building over san francisco, wind speeds are at about 13 miles per hour. as we head in towards the afternoon, we should clear out nicely but we're actually into some slightly cooler temperatures, especially for the north bay, waking up to 40s this morning, 47 degrees in santa rosa. we haven't seen 40s in a while. san jose 58 degrees, santa cruz 49, and i do want to show you a quick check of your temperature trend because today's average highs will be in the 80s but some inland areas are expected to see some 90s on the map so we're in for a little bit of a warming trend today, topping out in san jos

here is a look at our shot of the transamerica pyramid with the low clouds starting to roll in.s going to keep it cool and we'll be slow to clear throughout the morning hours. let's head out the door to the warm springs b.a.r.t. station with our temperature starting out in the low 50s. it will be a cold morning. we all need to grab a jacket and as we go through the day it will start to clear out here in fremont, we'll be at 67 degrees at noon. take the lunch outside it will be in the low 70s by early afternoon. the seven-day forecast is already up at the bottom of the screen, as we get the kids ready for school this morning in san jose, your school day forecast will be in the mid-50s as you go through that drop-off line and then we'll see some sunshine as they head out for lunch and recess. it will be in the upper 60s, and by the time you pick them up or walk home from school it will be in the low 70s. headed up to 75 in san jose. 76 in concord, and napa today 75 degrees. 65 in san francisco. here's another look at that beautiful sunrise, really can't get enough of that. that's
