the workers out here at the transit center have been in the rain all day.n out here for about 6 1/2 hours already, if you can believe that. and at about 2:00 this morning until about 4:00, they say they were in a good downpour. really heavy here in san francisco. they are geared up for it. they know they will experience weather over the next couple of months as this weather continues into june as they try to reinforce beams on the bus deck at the transit center. they're dressed for it. also after waking up to rains and driving in, i wanted to show you a look of what it looked like when i was driving in. coming in on i-80 westbound into san francisco. this is video from my dash cam. i was in and out of heavy rain. serious downpours at times. in some areas there was a lot of puddling on the interstate. also some strong winds coming in. the warning signs were on across the bay bridge, moderately heavy winds there. the winds and rain also diminished a bit as i got into the city. make sure you do have good tires on your cars and truck and take normal precautions

on the last item at the meeting, was an update on the transit center, and we too thanks for the project team for the comprehensive update, and we are pleased to hear that repairs are now targeted for completion by june 1st. we did provide some feedback. first, add additional detail and clarity into the schedule to show when the various elements of repairs will be repeat completed. for example, forging steel, other elements of production, and installation readiness, and the actual installation. additional refinement regarding the inspection work of the drawings, and other critical design elements of the building, that will be done to ensure there are no other items requiring additional inspection or repair. lastly, the last item we discussed, resulted in a unanimous recommendation from the c. a.c., and that is to reopen as much of the center as soon as possible based on the opinions of experts, recommendations of the project team, and of course, board approval pick specifically referring to the salesforce park, rooftop park, the food trucks, and other pop-ups as appropriate. these amenit

the brand new transbay transit center will remain closed until at least june of this year. repair work is already underway... but this is a new timeline for completion. but starting tomorrow work will begin on the bus deck above first street. crews will be reinforcing the girders on the deck. that will force a full on e block closure of first street between howard and mission from 5-a-m saturday to 8-p-m sunday. then in march...steel plates will be delivered to the center for installation. "we are very eagar to open but we need to assure the public that its safe to open we need to give time to our engineers to make sure no other potential locations that need attention in the building." (grant) the transit center was only open for one month before it abruptly closed due to cracks found in steel beams on the bus deck. and an official reopening date has not been set.
