the british oil company's now asking for at least $40 billion in damages from transocean.hreatened. there is still oil out in the marshes, birds are taking it back into their nests. this is nesting season. and they get it on their chicks. they succumb to hypothermia possibly within days and they don't know how many because they just slink into the deeper brush. and on the anniversary there are a lot of fingers being pointed. bp is now suing the maker of that blowout preventer, kameron. the u.s. coast guard says that it was bp's responsibility to keep all of those workers safe. the federal government says the same thing. it doesn't seem that a year after the spill anybody is taking responsibility. what we do know for sure is that this is going to continue for some time. there will continue to be oil if the marshes for possibly years to come and the cleanup is nowhere over and one of the things that we learned is that bp is refusing to fund restoration projects. now here at the audubon nature institute we've learned that it's very expensive to rehabilitate these turtles. the
