this is the implementation of new accounting software for the transportation authority. and we have had the system called fun ware for the last ten years, back then, a non-profit system was the best system suited for the transportation authority. in the past ten years, we have been growing and we had more project and more responsibilities and we have currently out grown our accounting software, we started to look into new software and i took a look along with the staff into four softwares that fit the needs of the transportation authority. we met with them and had some discovery sessions we were able to play with the software and from conclusions of those we decided to go with the software called microsoft dynamics ax, the 2012 version. from that point, we were looking for a vender to help us with the implementation, we needed a rendor to help us achieve the four goals, to find a system, and help us implement a system that is structure for government agencies instead of businesses and private businesses or non-for profit and also looking for implementer to help us to gui

this year the transportation authority passed the one billion mark for our sales tax program allocating funds for projects to improve the safety and accessibility of our transportation system citywide. we've moved a strong group of projects forward. the brt program moved ahead and the major capital projects of the prop k plan are all under construction. to the. our impact extends beyond the investments on the ground. we're engaging community based organizations in our outreach to communities of concern and increasing the involvement of neighborhood groups in the decision-making process. i'm excited about the work underway early action plan and prop k prioritization process. i look forward to working with colleagues on strengthening our transportation sector in 2014. and enhanced project delivery across the city i'll conclude my remarks by wishing everyone an enjoyable and relaxing holiday season. we can go on to public comments to this item and seeing none we'll close public comments and move onto the next item. >> this is an information item, the directors report. >> good morning tilly

this has been a partnership between the transportation authority and sf mta. the project is in the environmental review process. i will talk more about this. we are putting together the interviewal document and we plan to release that in the summer of this year. i will give a project background and talk about the staff recommended alternatives and details and next steps. the geary quarter is a six 1/2 mile corridor. the busiest bus lines in the corridor that sf mta operates. 60 thousand trips are carried per day. the 38 local and 38 limited are the current and main line that run on the geary corridor. very heavily used very high frequencies today to 6 minutes at each peak. they travel less and not as reliable to show up when we want them to show up and when they show up, they are crowded when they get behind schedule. so these are the kinds of issues that we are intended to address with our project. our proposal is what we call bus rapid transit. brt which is most prominently figures for the dedicated buses on the streets and a number of improvement that will
