that all resulted in the transportation security act of 2001 signed into law november 19th, 2001, and that's the act that created the transportation security administration. here's what it said. the pilot of a passenger aircraft operated by an air carrier in air transportation or interstate transportation is authorized to carry a firearm into the cockpit if the undersecretary meaning the tsa approves, if the airline approves, if the firearm is approved by the tsa, and if the pilot receives proper training for use of that firearm. well, we went to work. and several meetings with the tsa and several letters to secretary of transportation norm mineta fell on deaf ears. they didn't want to have a thing to do with us. in fact, administrator john mcgow said i will not allow pilots to be armed. that will required a ten-month extensive lobbying effort with congressional members and staff and although some in the alpa leadership leaned towards a limited program with 2% pilot cap and a two-year sunset provision that would certainly have killed the program very early on, an amendment by representative defazio removed those limits and hr-4635 was passed 310-113 in t

brian germane livingston was employed by the transportation security administration for nine years. on wednesday, february 15th, according to charging documents, he used cash to rent a room at the crown plaza hotel in silver spring, maryland. >> hotel management suspected there may be some sort of a prostitution going on in one of the rooms. rented by the defendant. management had recognized him as being in the hotel before and observed a lot of traffic, males and females, going up the elevator, down and in and out of the room. >> reporter: the manager and police knocked on the door of the fifth floor room when that were invited in, police say they observed three naked females and four men who were attempting to get dressed. a total of 11 people were in the room. bryant livingston was interviewed in the hallway and told police he runs the security at dulles airport. in a subsequent police interview, one of the men in the roomel to the investigators he had paid livingston $100 to engage in sexual activities. livingston was charged with five prostitution-related counts. the tsa said b

bryant jermaine livingston had been employed by the transportation security administration for nine years. on wednesday, february 15th, livingston used cash to rent a room at the crowne plaza hotel in silver spring, maryland. >> hotel management suspected there may be some sort of prostitution going on in one of the rooms rented by this defendant. management had recognized him as being in the hotel before and observed a lot of traffic, males and females, going up the elevator, down, in and out of the room. >> reporter: the manager and police knocked on the door of the fifth floor room. when they were invited in, police observed three naked females and four men who were attempting to get dressed. a total of 11 people were in the room. bryant livingston was interviewed in the hallway and told police he runs the security at dulles airport. in a subsequent police interview one of the men in the room told investigators he had paid livingston $100 to engage in sexual activities. livingston has been charged with five prostitution-related counts. the tsa says bryant livingston is no longer employ

. >>> troubles tonight for a manager of the transportation security administration at dulles airport. police say he was running a brothel out of a silver spring hotel room. pat collins in silver spring has details. >> reporter: the charge, five counts of prostitution. the suspect? a tsa airport security manager. the scene? this hotel in silver spring. 39-year-old bryant livingston, a tsa airport security manager. charged with running a prostitution operation out of the crowne plaza hotel in silver spring. according to court documents, when police entered room 506 at the hotel, they observed 11 people to include three naked females, and four males attempting to get dressed. multiple people were laying on the two beds in the room. others were sitting in chairs. one man told police he paid a hundred bucks to go up in that room and have sex. it was the hotel that tipped off police after a manager there noticed livingston escorting women and men into the same room. when police got to that room, what did they discover? >> the door was opened and they observed males and females in various st
