much-needed investment in our city's local and regional transportation system. we look forward to rolling up our sleeves to help to deliver the improvements that will support our city's visioner zero, to drive the traffic fatalities to zero and, that will support reliability and improve traffic management and in the bikes and the walking grass across the city, in order to assure, broad based benefits i have also been seeking the sfmta assurance that will apply to the equity policy and analysis to propositions a and b, programs and i am hopeful that it will be supported i have actually called for a meeting or a hearing at the board of supervisors, to cover that very topic. election night marked another major milestone for transportation in our city and it was 25 years ago, this november, that voters approved the first half cent tax known as proposition b and also created the transportation authority to administer the program and the local transportation sales tax that was reauthorized in three and renamed, proposition k, helps to pay for projects large and small

and i learned early, through those experiences how much people need public transportation. the fact of life and in too many corners of america the connections that the people need to the 21st century economy are limited and here you have a city that is growing. growing by what i read was an expected 30 percent, by 2030. and so you are going to have more demands on the system. more people waiting for the bus, more situations where the bus has to passed by because it is too fall, if somebody depending on public transit to get to a job and they miss the bus because it is too crowded that is an opportunity lost for that individual and so we here have done something that we think is pretty important. and we have put together 100 million plus dollars and completed around the country for the transit systems to tell us what it is that you need, that will help with some of these connections to the folks who are trying to get into the middle class of folks who are struggling to stay in it so that we can create the kind of fluid connection to the 21st century economy that so many peop

the neighborhood, transportation center has been making great progress and what is nice to see that the neighbors there took a site visit to see what the improvements over there look like, and to try and learn from that experience. there are temporary traffic calming and improvements associated with that triangle area, and the park lit, that is there, now, which will turn into a permanent improvement. and with the support of prop k and other funds and, so this project provided as we say a example of what the safety and the space improvements are possible and i think that the neighbors were very excited to learn from that experience. the geneva bus rapid project has been concluding a big round of out reach and community workshops and i attended one and this is the corridor traversing san francisco and daily city as well as multiple different ways that we are trying to address the safety and reliable issues and there is a need for a rapid transit route for the transand muni buses and also a need for bus routes and connectivity and we continue to work with the city and the city of brisbain
