prince george's county firefighter travis murdoch was on duty wednesday night and sent to rescue hiswin brother chris murdoch from that horrifying crash. it just so happens the passenger in that car was derek matthews and he is also a twin. his brother david also showed up at the scene of the crash. the two sets of twins all in their 20s have been best friends since childhood and now they have more in common than just the twin bond. just after 2 a.m. wednesday chris murdoch was behind the wheel when his car skidded off stony brook drive hitting a tree head on. derek matthews was also in the car. >> the car was literally wrapped around the tree. >> reporter: rescuers from bowie fire and ems station 39 responded including travis murdoch, the driver chris' twin brother. then david matthews, the twin brother of derek, the passenger in the car, also got word of the accident and he rushed to the scene, too. >> to walk upon the scene where, you know, all you see is the aftermath it was really tough to think -- imagine that the person you grew up with and you were born with was in there. >>
