kpix 5's roberta gonzales joins us from treasure island with what's happening. >> reporter: we brought mobile weather to see the current conditions. wind speeds under 10 miles per hour but a stronger occasional gust at 53 degrees. we thought we would come out and look at the sky and some of the rainfall stats in and around the microclimates. we saw anywhere from just over .3" of precipitation right around the san jose area and sunnyvale to nearly a half inch in walnut creek and nearly 7 owe 10" inof rain in st. helena. how do we stack up as far as the precipitation of normal stats are concerned? well, we are doing better than last year but we still need more rain. san francisco 73% of where we should be for this time of the year. santa rosa 83. but compare that with last year when san jose only had 26% of normal. sure, we had more rain coming. paul deanno will tell you a little later in this broadcast if it's certainly going to help. reporting live with mobile weather from treasure island, roberta gonzales, kpix 5. >> you can track the rain anytime with our live high-def doppler radar.

john alston is live on treasure island with a look what happened today. reporter: you're right.by-step we're getting closer to seeing traffic on the new section of the bay bridge. construction crews are wrapping up their nine-our hoe ject. work started at 7:00 a.m. 136 cement truck loads filling in the lanes. it's about the size of three football fields. now, it will take a week for it to fully hard ton the point construction vehicles can drive over it. this is the last section of the deck to be pumped full of cement. there's still a lot of work to be done over the next six months. >> big picture, still need to pave the entire bridge. right now the road decks are in place but paving has not one done. electrical work, the lights on the bridge. finish taking down scaffolding around the tower. painting is still going on, on the cable and elsewhere. >> by finishing the deck today it means that both eastbound and westbound traffic will be open at the same time win the new bridge opens. originally the plan was for traffic heading into oakland would not use the new pan until four to si
