when i was first added to the commission 10 years ago, i did not know treasure island and i have gotten to know is so much more. i feel very attached to it. there are some wonderful people on this island doing amazing work. sharon williams, a lot of great people, from nonprofits to the developers themselves area there could be a lot of opportunities to create great housing, affordable housing that the city need, the current mayor wants to build affordable housing and we are doing it on treasure island than anywhere else in the city. i really hope that, and i'm sure you will stay focused on making sure that that happened. and, anyway i may come back because i love this mission. thank you again, it was truly wonderful to be a part of this from the time when commissioner richardson was president under your leadership, linda, it was wonderful, and you have been true leaders, and all of this commission has had some great work and i'm sure you have a lot more to do in the next five years or so. good luck to everyone and i will be seeing you around the community. it is a small city and we will

besides visiting island for my birthday, i went to treasure island to learn about its rich history including the emergence of san francisco as a force, including the navy was fascinating. i learned about the climate impaction plan. i am familiar with the island, its conditions, and history. should i be appointed, my goals would include helping ensure treasure island development delivers on its promises so both current and future residents can enjoy the community. i'm committed to learning the desires of the current residents and make sure they're heard. we must think about the communities impacted with the development. it is my goal to promote transparency so that the outcomes are well understood. throughout my career, i have sought to promote equity and believe the built environment, housing in particular, are key to building thriving communities where everyone has access to opportunity. i believe my experience working with impacted communities, development, and supporting policy change would be put to good use to supporting the public in this role. treasure island will become a destination

it included all of treasure island and yarbrough buena island. it provides for, streamlined annexation of areas within that future and ration area into the cfd as a properties that are transferred and move towards developing. it also allows the special taxes assessed to reflect developer product type into new improvement areas you'd - - - areas area this was the map that includes all of the public lands on the northern half of yerba buena gardens and treasure island including the job corps center site. it identified those parcels as improvement area number one. the cfd levels to supplemental special taxes on properties, the facilities specials tax and the services special tax, they are based on square footage and land use. square footage of the individual or property or condominium home. and the land use whether it is commercial retail, hotel, or residential. within residential it has differing rates for townhomes, low, mid-or high-rise condominiums. all of these were described for improvement area one. and then, again, to refresh what the specia

that's the latest live on treasure island dan kerman kron 4 news and thank you we have developing news tonight federal investigators spent today examining the wreckage of yesterday's helicopter crash in hayward. >>kron four's charles clifford has more on what they learned. >>we'll hear in hayward on tuesday, the investigation continues into a helicopter crash for monday throughout the day on tuesday, the ntsb and the f a a had investigators here on scene a walking around the wreckage trying to figure out happened what we do know is about 2.30 on this training aircraft which is a robinson 44 helicopter that's a small helicopter crashed it was apparently a training flight. there was an instructor and a student on board unfortunately the instructor 62 year-old wayne prada jer of sunnyvale died the student was critically injured and taken to the hospital now a small aircraft like this most small aircraft do not have a black box so investigators are i have to examine the wreckage. talk to witnesses trying to piece together what happened. here's the general manager for the hayward airport ki
