and then i'm really excited to talk about nurse treasure island. i believe that i mentioned this last board meeting. we received a large grant from the crane start foundation to address food security and diversity on the island. and so we are partnering with both of the restaurants on the island, and we are partnering with island cove market to be able to provide island residents with three free meals a week. ariseli with a meal that residents can pick up between 4:00 and 6:00 on monday, and merci, with a meal that residents can pick up between 4:00 and 6:00 on thursdays, and i'm sorry, mercili is beginning june 14th, and the other july #st. and we'll provide on the weekend food trucks. and here's where we'll bring in the food diversity piece, that we'll have food trucks that mirror the cultural diversity on the island, so our first food truck is coming out and we have on the 19th, barbecue for the barbecue for juneteenth. and we are excited about that. we'll be formally launching this, hopefully with some press on july 10th, on a saturday, and so w

it's not just treasure island. and so wherever it benefits for san francisco and the mainland and it will be applicable to treasure island as well. and i think it's important we start to look at what's going on with treasure island and with the city and county of san francisco. the question now i have for you purely, what the past is going to be for the category, we have all these agencies that we have to take into consideration. ac transit. mta. and we have mtc. and you also mentioned that everything is going to be tied to the inflation. so i would imply here we're going to have to go to this dance every we come up with the price because we don't want to be going through this every year. and so plan ahead businesses and everything like that i think we need to have another standard. we know that amtrak all of them are. i'm thinking here and san francisco's looking at measures later on. these things are not free and so we need to understand that and so what does that structure look like, you know, later on. this is

a ferry service from treasure island to downtown san francisco. and this memorandum of understanding between timma and weda is prepared to establish a framework to provide a financially feasible ferry service to treasure island. so the transit service and the ferry service to connect treasure island to downtown san francisco is the mou that establishes both agencies as the par tis and both of the agencies would be collaborating on securing a zero emission vessel for the ultimate ferry service and establishes ferry study to recommend that plan and type and fare for this service working with close partnership to develop the operational parameters and the ferry service plan is envisioned to have two cases. initial service which is subject to start as soon as early 2022 to provide access to the new residents that are moving into treasure island. and ultimate service to begin with the rest of the timma program that will include east bay service and shuttle in 2024. and so the funding both agencies are committed to work collaboratively to pursue federal

i've already served a short 30 month stint and really enjoy working with the board at treasure island. i'm sharing my 20 years of expertise and energy in the environment. we have had continual blackouts on the island, and i've been working with different groups to try to find solutions for the community. i've been working on backup batteries, and also working on equity and community justice issues, working with the newest board member and with community leaders to help on making sure that the transition is just as reasonable and really some of the work that i do with the coalition-building across the country, bringing shared lessons learned so we can implement and really work on transparency and accountability. and so as the two islands move towards this development to really make sure that we're constantly working with the community and approving their voices in the process, so it is not just one versus the other, and it is more of a joint work in progress. i would love the opportunity to continue to work with the community and with the staff and the current directors on moving us fo

preference and that is valid as long as they remain a resident of the villages at treasure island. we're anticipating that those will probably be assigned in july. and mohcd will conduct a lottery for each authority or market-rate building that has inclusionary units to determine who will have the opportunity to rent or to purchase those inclusionary units. and so we need to have all of this set up for the below-market rate units in the bristol building. the certificate holders will have the highest priority for those new units -- or any new units constructed on treasure island. first priority is given to the longer-term residents and the pre-d.d.a. residents and followed by the bested post-d.d.a. residents. but if a treasure island resident, villages resident, completes the process and registers with mohcd, and enters the lottery, they will have the first opportunity to occupy these new affordable units on the island. with the legacy ranking, and other accordination that we have ongoing with -- coordination with mohcd, we are working on procedures to rank the order in which legacy

when the city was considering moving the police academy to treasure island. this community fought to keep the police academy right here in this community and they were successful. along with the work and the advocacy around george christopher park and we broke ground on a new playground and in that particular area, a couple weeks ago. and so, this is an amazing community. it's a resilient community. it's a community that has a history that was just talked about. maria polish, one of the first residents here in the 1950s when it was just a meadow and now look at it. a neighborhood and a community where children are raised and people shop and see each other at the grocery store and we know that this project is going to be an important part of this community too. so, i am excited about it. i'm especially excited because some of you might have remembered when i served on the board of supervisors i introduced neighborhood preference legislation and that legislation made sure that when we build affordable housing in communities, the right of first refusal for the c

you see a live look with treasure island camera as we look to san francisco, a gray start again but we will see skies clear as we head through the afternoon. very similar to yesterday, starting our day with that coastal drizzle and even a little bit drizzle around the bay this morning because of the on shore flow. temperatures as we start our day are in the mid to upper 50s to about 60 on this friday morning. here is what you can expect, that low pressure system, upper level low that's been bringing that on shore flow and pacific ocean breeze all week long. that coastal low is going to weaken and a ridge of high pressure will be building in. this heat dome will be over the pacific northwest to our north but it's going to bring for us in the bay area some hot temperatures inland. hour by hour on futurecast, skies clearing inland and for parts of the bay but you see that cloud cover along the coast as we go through our day today. you can see futurecast winds, those strong westerly winds once again, that afternoon sea breeze kicking in. we have been talking about this inland heat for our

you can see them here from the camera on treasure island which looks back toward the city skyline.lenty of low to midclouds hanging out over the city. let's get the current numbers on the screen. just to get you ready for how things will feel before you step outside. we are in the mid50's for most locations. look up in the north bay. santa rose a. that's a cool 45 right now to start this day. that's a theme over the next few mornings. we will be seeing the temperatures dip lower. it's mid-40s's now for santa rosa. we will get new to the low 40's. many other spots will come back down into the many aid and upper 40's. as far as daytime highs, back up into the low 70's today means we are going to be cooler than yesterday by about four our five degrees but with less wind it'll probably feel like a nicer day even though it is going to be cooler out there. off the coast what you don't see, shows when you look a different way. that will do two things. it'll keep the temperatures cool for much of the rest of this week and it'll try to throw, believe it or not, a little bit of rain toward n
