bob beck i'll go ahead and invite noa gonsalves from one treasure island to give an update on their on island programs and activities. good afternoon. good afternoon, directors and happy new year. nela gonsalves, executive director from one treasure island. i have a very short report this month at our food pantry on the 17th. we served over 200 households with hams and turkeys and gingerbread houses and toys, and we gave residents who are in the new housing development grocery carts so they can wheel their groceries from the food pantry all the way back up to star view court in isle house and masayo mae. so it was a very lovely celebration. our construction training program began this monday. on january 6th, we had 11 candidates that are enrolled in the training, and our job broker and employment services are set to go for the new year, and the tax site will launch on february 6th. that's where we provide low income san franciscans and island residents with free tax prep services if they make $75,000 or less. and so we're excited to run that program again in partnership with the united

and you know, for the public is that, you know, as part of treasure island development treasure island authority is mandated to work with a partner and one treasure island. and so what we are doing is at risk youth and adults whether they are they live on treasure island or they are also from any other parts of san francisco. they go through this workforce training. and as a result they've been teaching them now my god, we got thousands that have already graduated from that. and so the profile of folks that people do not ever even gamble on, they are very, very low skill at first. and now after the training they get graduation and they are matched with employment. i think this is extremely, very significant. it's a big deal. and the part that titus is committed to that and one treasure island is producing this opportunity here we just want to convey to all the partners and everyone that this is a big deal for us. so congratulations. >> thank you. we couldn't have done it without titus support and we will be celebrate meeting our 20th cohort which means we've held 20 classes in may with

let's take a look at what's happening out there right now towards treasure island.rrent temperatures, those are in the 40s and 50s. we're going to drop down mostly to the 40s as we head through the rest of tonight. but those temperatures, well, they're on the cool side. some of the chillier spots dropping into the upper 30s within a few degrees of what's normal for this time of the year. and then high temperatures tomorrow are going to be about 1 to 3 degrees above average. mostly in the low to mid-60s. the coolest spots along the coast are going to be in the upper 50s. not a whole lot of variation tomorrow. further down the line is where we do see some changes to our rain chances. a chance for showers that will move in late tomorrow night into wednesday. it's not going to amount to a whole lot. so we're talking about a couple hundredths of an inch of rain. the latest estimate from futurecast. you can see .01 essentially means a trace of rainfall that's not going to amount to anything measurable. just enough to maybe make you fiddle with the windshield wipers on wed

the 168 slip marina will be located in clipper cove, which separates treasure island from yerba buenaction there will take about two years and it is the first change like this on the bay in decades and comes amid several revitalization projects on treasure island. well, the parking lot at san francisco's coit tower will soon be closed for a much needed repaving project. abc seven news was there today and was told that the work will happen in stages. four parking spaces at a time. the lot, as you can see, is in pretty bad shape. lots of cracks on the surface. in total, it will be shut down for about six weeks. happening tomorrow a chance to learn more about how the territory for santa clara county fire department could expand. it could soon protect san martin, gilroy, and morgan hill cities in the southern part of santa clara county. this change comes after supervisors voted to end their contract with cal fire. cal fire will continue, though, to respond to fires on state owned property. the expansion has to be approved before it takes effect, and there is currently no timeline for how
