you may remember that the house is already suing treasury department, saying that there's a federal laways if congress wants to look at the president's tax returns, they ought to be able to to see if the irs is properly auditing them. this is a different route. this was a law passed by new york by new york state in july that said if certain chairmen or senior representatives of congressional committees asked new york state tax officials for the president or vice president or certain members of congress tax returns of their new york returns, they could get them. president trump sued claiming that law is unconstitutional and today a federal judge tossed it out. he didn't rule on the merits of the case about whether the president's right that there's something wrong with this law. all he said is, sorry, this is not the place to have this argument. i am a judge in washington. your complaint is against new york state officials. go file your lawsuit there. that's basically what he's saying. now, because this lawsuit has gone away and because there had been an agreement, in theory, right now,
