abc's trevor ault leads us off. >> reporter: tonight, a massive security breach. abc news has learned a stow awa passenger boarded a delta flight from new york to paris. the tsa says the passenger went through the metal detectors, but bypassed the i.d. check podium and also bypassed a delta agent at the gate to board the aircraft. the fbi is aware of the breach, and delta is launching an exhaustive investigation. meantime tonight, a delta flight from paris to atlanta had to be diverted to ireland to remove one rulely passenger. it all comes as tsa says they expect to screen more than 18 million passengers by monday. and in that rush at the busy newark airport today, the faa again issuing a ground delay because of air traffic controller shortages. united blames the faa for not fixing the problem, saying it's caused delays and cancellations for hundreds of thousands of passengers just this month. the faa says most delays nationwide are from weather and airline operations, but hiring more air traffic controllers is a top priority. and further snarling travel, million

washington correspondent trevor shirley is in dc with more. the pentagon was unable to give auditors enough information to form an accurate account. >> the pentagon's goal is to earn a so-called clean audit. that means there's enough information available to get an accurate account of the pentagon's financial statements. the pentagon's financial report card is made up of 28 different entities which each conduct independent audits of those. 28 only 9 to achieve clean audit. but more than ever before. but that's still not enough to give an accurate picture of the pentagon's finances. the pentagon has never pass an audit since it was legally obligated to start carrying them out back in 2018. but officials say they are making progress. they expect to be able to earn that clean audit by 2028. in part by modernizing the workforce and improving financial data systems. officials say part of the problem is just the sheer number of systems. the defense department employees, this year's audit costs 178 million dollars using around 1700 auditors. >> repor

trevor street made his first court appearance today. prosecutors claim street was seen trying to record female students in a locker room at brett hart middle school last monday. street was arrested by police on wednesday based on witness descriptions. now in the days leading up to today's hearing, parents sent numerous emails to the da's office urging prosecutors to push for street to be held without. bail. today, the judge granted that request. the suspect will now undergo psychiatric evaluation as requested by his own attorney. criminal proceedings are suspended, uh, the will evaluate his mental competency to stand trial before the substantive charges are actually addressed. is that a standard thing to do in these kind of cases, to do a mental evaluation. i wouldn't say that it's standard, but it's not uncommon. it really depends on the individual, the individual who's charged. straight faces multiple charges including possession of child pornography and filming without consent. he also has 3 other unrelated cases pending. he's schedu
