do you think that congress understands as you do and as, you know trey martinez does the urgency of what since we got off the planes from texas, we have been very diligent with pleading our case. we've had key meetings with not only the vice president but key leadership in the senate and the house. we know that we're dealing with the fierce urgency of now and we've done that. we've not only had these key meetings but we've had and participated in protests and rallies with state lawmakers from around the countries and religious leaders to plead a moral case. we're on the right side of history and want the congress and senate to be statesmen, not to be partisan politicians but do what's best for all people and so if people get a chance to vote, that is the bedrock of our country and why we're fighting so hard, too many people who showed us our stand literally died for their precious fundamental right that we just celebrated the 56th anniversary of. that was the signing of the voting rights act of 1965. and my democratic colleagues and i are fighting not just for texas' rights but the right
