we saw 90s today, mid-90s and reach tomorrow and the tri-valley, a.c. probably still going past sun down tonight. still near 70 degrees. tomorrow we're thinking numbers in the mid and upper 90s around pleasanton and livermore. san jose, 68. temperatures close to 90 degrees tomorrow. with the increase in temperatures, you'll probably notice the skies trending a little more hazy for the north bay, central bay and east bay tomorrow, into the moderate range. not a spare the air day but the air not quite as clean as we've seen over the last week or so. notice the low clouds on the coast. different forecast obviously the closer you are to the coastline where you've got temperatures staying in the 60s to low 70s. inland you've got the sunshine. we start off pretty warm. 60s for the south bay and out towards the tri-valley. as we head towards lunchtime, numbers starting to climb up. we'll see numbers closer to almost 90 by noon. then as we head towards mid afternoon, those temperatures climb up even more. we begin to see those numbers climbing into the mid-90s

i want to show you this view from mount deaub low looking over toward the tri-valley. you can see the smoke that's settling over the tri-valley as well as much of the rest of the bay area this morning and we're also smelling that as well. was' look at our air quality once again for parts of the north bay, inland east bay and the tri-valley, that's where we are seeing the worst of those numbers. this is a measure of particulate matter, some of the things that you can breathe in from that wildfire smoke that makes it unhealthy for you. even if you have -- don't have breathing problems, if you're a healthy person, this could really start to affect you. limit our time outside and be mindful of the air quality for the next couple of days as our temperatures will start to warm up as we take you hour by hour we're going to see our afternoon temperatures for the inland east bay in the low to mid-90s while the coastal areas will see this fog and much to cool those temperatures off for the coastal areas, it also helps bring in some higher humidity. we'll be watching those humidi

we have yellow dot or the east bay as well as tri-valley.lity, moderate, walnut creek and danville. around the bay you can see the orange and for oakland. unhealthy air this morning and checking out the north bay, purple dots, very unhealthy air to start off our day from san rafael through novato as well as napa and petaluma. and because of that, a little closer to the lmu lightning complex, we're watching the northerly winds, pushing that smoke further south. we have unhealthy air, a spare the air alert remains in effect today and extended into tomorrow. here's what you can expect. patchy drizzle, morning fog along the coast and they. we will continue with the haze, with that smug. warmer temperatures for today and the spare the air alert in effect until tuesday unlikely behind that. high pressure and control roaming us out. we will see that cloud cover retreat back to the coast. a cool day along the coast but the haze, clear skies for everywhere else. very similar for tuesday. daytime highs for the south, looking at mid 80s for san jose an

winding picking up around the diablo range and the tri-valley. this is why fire danger is so high. it's the triple threat of those high temperatures, humidity levels in the teens outside, and the increasing daytime wind even though technically it's an onshore breeze. you couple that with temperatures above 100 degrees, humidity levels in the teens, and obviously drought, parched conditions especially up towards the north bay, and that's a nasty combination for fire crews. notice this is another day tomorrow, what will start out with 70s and 80s in the morning, 100 degree temperatures inland with that air quality alert due to smoke pollution in the east bay and south bay. we may see some of that up towards the north bay too. we'll have to watch the winds during the afternoon. short term we're going to get a little bit of relief, emphasizing the worlds a little there for thursday and friday. you see san francisco dropping into the low 70s. valleys, which have been above 100 degrees, for a brief time thursday, friday, saturday, should be in the low to mid-90s. we hope that will give s

you can see health it has evolved through the day, with some improvements, especially for the tri-valleyas the winds have calmed down, we have seen deteriorating air quality in san francisco, especially parts of the north bay. a number of spots reported unhealthy air-quality levels. it will be the same pattern repeating itself as we head to the next couple of days. when the smoke is calm it's tends to settle and when the winds pick up during the day it will be the same onshore breeze for the next few days. is when the atmosphere gets stirred around and the smoke does not go away. at least to get mixed around a little bit. side-to-side, and up to down. it helps. air-quality at its worst will be unhealthy for sensitive groups. for the note break him around the city, and the south end of the bay. unhealthy as you head further inland for solana alameda, and santa clara counties. the spare the air alert has been expanded all the way until the end of the work week, on friday. if the smoke is not bad enough we have to worry about higher allergen levels. in the medium high category for the next

the wind is going to be pushing the worst of the air into the east bay into the tri-valley and south bay into the shape of the valleys that collects such, smoke. for the east bay and south bay. not great air quality there's the effort mentioned fog around the suture tower. only 63 downtown, temptress further inland or not that warm. at 80 degrees, here's the fog, spreading far inland, we will take this for as long as the weather pattern remains in place. further inland in a little bit, it's going to take a while for it to retreat towards the coast by midday tomorrow we will see some reduced visibility's along the coast but further inland and it will clear out. but not the smoke. a layer of fog near the ground and smoke above it. temperatures will bottom out in the 50s, low to mid 60s slightly above average for late august with temperatures tomorrow, low to mid 70s, warm or hot for inland portions of the east bay but not out-of- control heat that we were dealing with, temperatures in the 80s, low 90s east of the tri-valley and low to mid 80s for the south bay. temperatures will stay h

we are in the upper 80s to low 90s for the tri-valley and low 70s around the bay.akland and fo d 80s.s tolow to we aredealing th smoke once again tomorrow with that "spare the air" alert in effect today and tomorrow and that will likely continue over the next several days. let's check for the latest on the bay bridge commute. >> it is a busy one. it is backed up into the maze. 580 as well as the east shore freeway commute out of emeryville. we have an accident near the toll plaza, so we're expecting it a little slower than usual out of the east may into the city. that is a heads up that you are taking the bay bridge. you can see a lot of red in the area. it is a little sluggish because of thcrash. then the west bank made of 580 for super commuters, it is still betty. it is 30 minutes to a five to 680. the bulk of the delays are around mount house and it extends to north flynn. and then here's a look at bay point. we have the usual stuff getting crowded westbound and there are overnight closures for connectors east and west bowed around 680 throughout this week. it

tri valley, the numbers climbing up to 107 and 108 degrees tomorrow. near 90 degrees in oakland. relatively cooler around the coastal areas. patchy low clouds returning. 70s there. san francisco downtown. north bay temperatures possible tomorrow. we hope to trend cooler. let's jump ahead to tuesday. that's not good. that means it's cooler inland. we begin to see less 100s on the board. so just very subtle cooling and the sea breeze makes a mid-week come back. high pressure is probably going to build back from the desert southwest. if you are looking for cooling and the return of low clouds, well, it will arrive toward the second half of the week. not really going to cool us off a whole lot. san francisco won't drop any lower than 70 degrees. the valleys running toasty through probably wednesday. that's the transition day. seeing temperatures cooler but still average above. that's about as good as it's going to get. next weekend trending ithout thn sparks or fire danger. record breaking record, fire danger and air quality issues not a good combination. >> thanks, rob. >>> bringing

we're seeing that even as we're waking up and heading out the door in the tri-valley. a live look outside in dublin and what we're seeing is that fog rolls in, that marine layer is pushing that smoke down close to the surface. and then as we go through the day it just kind of drifts around. we are seeing some unhealthy air quality for our microclimates although it is looking better in san francisco. some of our highest numbers that we are seeing are in the parts of the east bay as well as the south bay with palo alto at 176, 179 and san mateo very close to that complex of fires over the santa cruz mountains. as we look at our high temperatures for today, we're still going to have a warm-up but you'll notice for the bay some of our coastal areas will be cooler as we reach up to 85 in san jose. no change in our weather pattern which at this point will be good news. we'll see the fog rolling in during the morning hours, higher humidity, cooler temperatures and that keeps those fires from spreading so rapidly. and we're also going to see no major shifts in the wind directi
